AVB sacked

Featured Replies

I know i probably shouldnt but i do feel bad for him. Unlike most Chelsea fans i quite liked the guy and wanted him to do well with us.

When you lose a player like Bale its going to be hard going.

I wonder who they will get now.

54% - Andre Villas-Boas has the best win percentage of any Tottenham manager in the Premier League. Departed.

I just cant see what top class manager they will get. I think they will have to do what they did before and look down the league for someone.

Clarke?

Tottenham...too good to be sixth, delusional and knee jerk, they never cease to find ways to go down in my estimations.

They have had some really bad results but in the same way as West brom who can they bring in who is better right now?

I laughed when I read the news this morning I have to admit. Frankly he was arrogant at Chelsea, and at Tottenham. The 5-0 and 6-0 losses really look embarassing to folks and after dropping 100 million on new players, they're still mid table 'meh' level.

I feel kinda bad for him too, although given the thumping's they have just received and the money he had to spend in pre-season, I don't think anyone can say it's undeserved.

I don't know where AVB can go from here, did excellently at Porto but has been showed up to be completely naive defensively in both jobs here in the Premier League, i'd be very surprised to see him get another job in England anytime soon. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes off to Liga where he can get away with it more.

As for Spuds, they shouldn't have sacked 'arry to begin with, and now there aren't many options for them that would be a step up.

Well that was inevitable, it will be very interesting to see who they appoint and if he does any better, or if Spurs really are no more than a top 6 side.

It's probably a little harsh on AVB but we can't talk; they still have a long way to go before they can match us when it comes to knee-jerk managerial changes.

he will blame it on someone else as usual...lots of hoo-hah saying he has best winning percentage of any spurs manager in the league...he was only there for a season and a half and last season he had someone to bale him out...still wasn't enough for top four

wonder if those who are thinking it's harsh would accept Chelsea losing 3-0 and 5-0 at home to west ham and Liverpool and 6-0 at citeh? this site would be in meltdown

We have higher expectations than Spurs, and rightly so.

I don't know, maybe I'm imagining it, but it's starting to seem like a few people here don't like AVB very much?

what's to like...amazed people want to keep making excuses for him...failed at Chelsea, failed at spurs and blames others

Ridiculous, isn't it?

I'm actually surprised Levy went ahead with this, he's normally more calculated in his approach. His reputation might be tainted a bit when it comes to getting another manager, miss out on the CL and you get sacked is basically the message he's sending out.

If we were still on target to challenge for the title, or in Spurs case Top 4? Sure I would. Thrashing are never welcomed but mean very little in the long run. At worse you get a bit of banter from the fans, to which you simply point to the table and shut them up. No one would care come the end of the season if Spurs met their target. It's a points game and managers should be judged solely on that, not based on individual results.
