Does anyone think that Terry may consider returning for the WC in the summer after seeing how he and Gary Cahill can almost completely keep Suarz quiet for 90 minutes.

 

Is their no chance of him changing his mind and returning ?

 

Surely Hodgson would not think twice in picking him ?

After the way he's been treated by the FA and the England "fans" despite being proven innocent over the racism thing, and both parties denying the affair thing, he should never go back, even if all other CBs are struck down with debilitating gonorrhea, he should sit back and laugh as England lose 8-0 .

Centre-back is England's weakest spot and Terry would vastly improve it. 

Given our Group the aim should be to progress and see what happens from there. He has shown today to be very capable in handling Saurez, who had his quietest game since Arsenal away. He'd probably be great against Italy too, remember in Euro 2012, he held that together.

The main problem is Terry would play left centre back and our left backs are good whether it is Baines, Cole or even Gibbs. Whoever plays right centre back will have their job cut out having to defend alongside Johnson or Walker. What a nightmare for whoever that will be.

It can not have escaped Hodgson the form that Terry has been in this season. Naturally Hodgson wants the

best players available to him and I would be very surprised if he did not make an approach. JT seems to be a very

Proud Englishman and if the offer came I don't think, nor should he, refuse.

Problem for England's centre halves is that Cavani is another kettle of fish entirely. Liverpool had zero apart from Suarez, Cavani is nearly as good and provides a different threat.

Keeping Suarez quiet in a Chelsea team is easier than keeping Suarez quiet in an England team in my opinion.

 

No doubt Terry would improve England but England aren't good enough at keeping the ball and there pressure will be greater.

Pfft, why should Terry have to ring Hodgson? Hodgson should be begging Terry to come back, not the other way around. Terry has been treated unfairly by England many times and in my opinion the English national team doesn't deserve Terry after everything that's happened.

I think if Terry got the call, he'd say yes.  It's perfect for all parties: John gets to play for his country, England have their best centre back and the media have their scape goat when it all goes belly up.

JT should walks into that side easily but hardly helping England long term.

True but Jagielka is 31 and isn't going to the next World Cup. If Hodgson rates Jagielka above Terry then by all means don't take Terry.

But he doesn't. In my opinion it is either Cahill-Terry or Cahill-Jones.

I can't see the call being made though. Hodgson is a very conservative man.

He wont bring back terry because the media and lefty backlash he wil get.

Believe it would be a huge honour for JT to receive a call from Roy, but the way he has been treated by the geriatrics that run the FA I would personally tell them in words of one syllables where they can stick there request.

The same media who hounded him out of the England team are suddenly realising the players filling his position aren't really good enough. The talk now is that Lamps and Ash shouldn't make the team, which although I'd like them to have a final tournament, it might make the matches more enjoyable to watch when England inevitably fail with no Chelsea players to blame bar Cahill. JT just say NO!

Terry won't come back unless the FA come out publicly and ask him to.

 

He loved playing for England and never showed anything but total dedication but he was hounded out.

Unless he gets a proper apology from the FA, I hope he pundits the world cup and laughs at what a f**k up the FA has made.

It's gathering momentum though with lots of press people talking about it.

I would love to see a Terry and Cahill partnership in the World Cup, sadly i can't see JT coming out of retirement after the way he has been treated.

Such an abomination that Gerrard is still in the team and Terry isn't. As long as Gerrard continues to wear the England shirt, they won't touch a Semis place, such an awfully limited and wretched player. Sir Alex got it spot on on his analysis of him. 

JT is the best defender on one of the best defensive teams in the BPL. Does he have baggage? Of course. But if I am an England supporter (I am from the USA...) then i want him starting at CB for my squad. And the kicker is excluding Rio....who else wouldn't want the man? Let the man have one last World Cup. Guarantee he will make a difference.

Whenever i hear opposition fans saying they want Terry to come out of international retirement i roll my eyes and say "yeah, now you want him". Now they know just how much sh*t England are in in that position they all of a sudden love him again. Terry is probably sticking 2 fingers up to those fans right now.
