Eto'o and the Brazilians

Featured Replies

As we move to the top of table in a week or two I thought I will ask this question.

Do you think when the World Cup gets closer it will effect the players? Not wanting to get injured and maybe players arguing because they play against each other in Brazil.

Eto'o looks like he will play more and more to the end of the season - Cameroon play Brazil at the World Cup do you think this could be a problem?

This is about Eto'o and Luiz but which is more important for the players: club or country?

Eto'o and the Brazilian players fighting with each other because they're in the same WC group ranks as one of the most ridiculous things i've ever read on this site.

I'll shift the discussion of this thread to whether you think any of our players will get injured and their World Cup chances, not an Eto'o v Our Brazilians.

I think David Luiz is a nailed on certainty for the Brazil World Cup squad and I think he may have got assurances about his place from Big Phil meaning he chose to stay.

Oscar is the one I worry about getting injured the most. Played so much football for somebody so young and small and considering his skill level and his willingness to get himself about, there is a  recipe for a serious injury.

Willian, not really a guarantee for Brazil, but his supreme fitness above other players in the Prem should see him safe, likewise with Rami. They are both so quick, fit and agile that they can move away quickly from dangerous tackles. Both may push themselves too hard though to get into the World Cup Squad.

Torres' place in the squad and certainly the starting line up is somewhat of a danger, so hopefully we see a couple of good performances until May. But as we have seen with Nando, when he pushes himself too hard, something always props up like a red or an injury.

Schurrle needs gametime too and I am sure when he will get it when the fixture list piles up. He should be a useful asset down the stretch as he has ability, has played enough games and will need to prove himself to ensure he is one of the many talented AMs in the German squad. Luckily for him, Podolski is injury prone and that could seal his place in the squad.

For Cahill, he's in and won't get injured. Cole will probably make it, despite a lack of games. For some reason, I can see Lampard picking up an injury in training near the end of the season. I just have a feeling.

Eto'o will injury everybody in our squad to ensure Cameroon stay on course to lift the World Cup.

If we're in with a shout till the end of the season, they'll bust a gut to win the league, then go to the world cup knowing that they're on a massive high and playing well.

The paycheck comes from the club not the international side so I hope it has very little to do with their level of caution. I don't think so. Of course they think of the World Cup but a lot of players still has work to reach the actual squad...Willian and Rami are good examples of that.

Think the playesr are professional enough to keep focused on objective at a time.  WHile they're at Chelsea, they'll stay focused there.  Then they'll get focused on teh WC when they part ways and move into WC focus

Very disappointed by this thread, its not about his man grooming at all.

That took me a couple of seconds :-)

If anything, players probably look forward to play against each other, aiming for bragging rights. It's not as if the idea of playing against teammates is a totally new concept for them!
