Paul Pogba - Needs to Sign!

Featured Replies

There are third party image rights issues with this transfer which have caused all the major players from shying away from a deal. Pogba is trying to get these removed, prepared to go to the courts. Wonder if we have found a way around these? As any transfer would have an extra 10.5 million on top.

Just struggling to see why Juventus would sell at such a late stage in the transfer window.

They've already had to restructure their midfield following the departures of Pirlo and Vidal and their attack has undergone a major overhaul as well.

With just a week to go until the Italian transfer window shuts personally I think it's too late for them to consider selling Pogba....Even if a deal were to be agreed within the next couple of days, who could they possible hope to bring in themselves to balance out the sale?

Shoe on the other foot... Say we had won the league last season and made the European Cup final. Despite that success JT left and we sold Matic. Just a week to go Real Madrid come in with a hefty bid for Hazard.

Regardless of the money on offer after seeing such a successful team already dismantled you wouldn't want to see your prized asset leaving as well.

I tend to agree with this but if we offer them a central midfielder with a ridiculous amount of money then they could be tempted to accept as they could not get a better offer in the future.

I don't think this is going to happen but apart of me can't help think Cuadrado was a sweetener and Ramires and cash could be heading to Turin. Jose seems to be desperate to get this one over the line and we may well pay over the odds.

Say Chelsea owned Pogba.

If someone said to you there's a £70m offer for Pogba and his replacement is going to be Ramires... You'd die inside a little wouldn't you?

Maybe but then Juve get 70million which is rumored to be the figure they want for him. A price that they may not be able to get again, it's alot of money. Ramires won't light up that league but he will do a job. They then have 70 million to invest over the next season or 2, if they have ambition to win everything and reach higher heights of last season then I don't think they will sell. If they want a transitional period to rebuild and invest then I can see them selling him.

I think it's to close to the deadline day to sell and I don't think their fans will appreciate it but I wouldn't be surprised if we are going all out for him.

Juvbe will have no problem getting that kind of fee for him....

Barca, City, United and ourselves have all been linked to him for a few seasons and all could pay that amount.

Juve would be idiots to sell right now.

If he develops and becomes the player he is touted to be then sure they will get that fee for him but if he and Juventus have an off season then they will lose his value. It's been rumoured for some time that's his asking price. If we have met it then they could be tempted, I don't think its gonna happen but I doubt we'd still be pushing if we knew something could happen out of this.

Well Cuadrado is off to Juve on loan we know that.

Ramires must have had a knock, Jose would never part with him IMO. He's the kind of player he loves as can play in several positions and makes little fuss.

The opening line to that article:

"It may prove to be futile but there is a good reason why Chelsea will continue to pursue a British-record £70million deal for Juventus star Paul Pogba until deadline day next week."

If it's a futile pursuit then why bother? It's just a waste of time and resources by the club.

Pursuing unobtainable targets is just lost on me... Waiting until the week before the window closes makes the bid look knee-jerk due to the poor start to the season.

We spent a whole summer two years ago going after Rooney and it was a massive waste of time and we had to sign Eto'o as a last minute alternative.

This x100

If their stance is clear then would it not make sense that we move on and focus on someone we think we have a good chance of getting?

Time isn't on our side so we don't have time to see how many times Juve can say no.

RLC is less than 3 years younger than Pogba, you have to wonder what he's making of our attempts to tempt Juve.

Bottom line, if we sign Pogba, RLC may as well leave Chelsea, it's as simple as that, and nobody should dress it up, because it's the truth.

RLC is the best prospect we've had at the club since JT. I'm stunned, and a bit sick.

I don't think he'll make it here personally, hope I'm wrong

He would still be needed IMO.

We in a normal season usually play more than 50 odd games.

Mikel you would imagine is not in our plans long term.

IF (and I really doubt we will) get Pogba then you would still expect RLC to get a decent amount of game time in the cups and through injuries/suspensions and resting players.

It's obvious if these links are true that we are looking for another central midfielder to partner Matic as he and Cesc don't work against the better sides.

I didn't expect RLC to become a regular this season in any case.

here's an idea: why not loan RLC or another youth player to juve then? if they can give a teenage pogba a chance, then we'll loan them one of our youngsters, develop him and then at the end of the season they'll have the money from us to pursue whom they need in place of pogba. it isn't like juve are going to improve to a level they were at last season, but at least they'll have money in the kitty to purchase whomever they are after. I believe they want gundogan, draxler or mkrithyan (i think is his name!) so...

Wonder if we have a plan B, who is next in Jose' pecking order of DMs??

RLC is probably hoping we don't bring anyone in, maybe this is what one of our youngsters needs to come through. A lack of options means by default they will probably get a chance,

Why would Juve spend their resources trying to develop OUR player? They have their own academy players
