Diego Costa to Chelsea

Featured Replies

Well I'm not a fan of that side of him and if he acts like that the fans will soon let him know what we think also Jose surley would warn him.

I detest Suarez but lets face it as a player he is world class and I doubt the club would turn him away if he was available.

Well it looks like suarez has (hopefully) cut out the worst of his behavior, not that it excuses his past actions, but I imagine if Costa cut that sh*t out it wouldnt be a problem for him, that level of aggression seems to be part of his game though, hopefully he could channel it sufficiently.

Even though liverpool was the only club in for him when he was available at AJAX?

Suarez is on a different level now than he was then, Harry Redknapp turned him down ffs!

Can't agree with you here mate, for me Eto'o is far more dangerous than Gomez, he still has speed, acceleration and showed against Arsenal he still is clinical. But actually I'm not a big fan of Gomez at all, think it's just a lame player. We should've baught Tevez or someone that caliber last summer.

Eto'o was in semi retirement in Russia, it took him the best part of six months just to get up to match fitness.

Mario Gomez upon leaving Bayern Munich had scored 113 goals in 174 matches and that's before they were the bulldozing side they are now.

Gomez might not offer much in link up play but he knows how to stick it in the back of the net (25 goals in 59 games for Germany too) and end of the day that's what we needed and indeed still need.

We could have done a lot worse than signing him.

costa would be a brilliant signing, you can tell he's suited for this league, you lot not worried about his behavior though? I see a lot of chelsea fans they'd never want suarez in their squad but costa isnt much better in all honesty

Agreed, I've even been in the camp of "No To Suarez!"  Solely because I thought he was a "cheat" or a "Cretin" etc (plus biting Ivanovic didn't help).

However, any fan would be foolish to say they wouldn't take him in their team for footballing reasons.

I think with Costa a few are aware that he's Suarez-esque in his behaviour, but at the same time we've never been on the receiving end of such behaviour, and he doesn't play for a "rival" currently

I don't understand why everybody falls over the idea that he's just a c*nt, no better striker than one who's a world class player and a c*nt as well, get in the face of defenders, getting penalties, asking for cards. I know it's very very annoying when it's an opponent but we wouldn't become less of that. All of our forwards are just to sweet, let's take a look at Torres, mr. Nice Guy, won't work. And don't forget Terry isn't a perfect son in law as well, he's a hero.

Suarez has mellowed this season because Liverpool haven't had too much pressure on them to win games, but as soon as the pressure is on again, he will start diving and using aggressive behaviour.

I don't think he has mellowed, he's like a ticking time bomb, he's going to explode any time now

I really, really want Costa.

Hope his hamstring injury aint something that will haunt him from now on once he recovers.

Its either him or cavani, dont really mind who we get.

Cavani is someone who is similar to Rooney though, runs around like a mad man helping out in defence as well - could be a perfect fit for Mourinho.

Not seen enough of Costa so cant really comment on his work rate, all I know he is regarded as a bit of a c**t.

Muscle injuries very rarely leave lasting consequences.

It probably wasnt a tear because there wasnt any bruising (or at least it didnt appear so), so he'll most likely be completely fit in 2-3 weeks

We have seen it all tonight: we really need a striker, no one to kill the game against PSG, or at least give us a better start for the return at the Bridge..

Let's hope we can get Costa, the best option to sign in summer IMO.

i just want someone who looks like he enjoys scoring goals, someone who will go on to the field with the intention of putting the ball in the net as many times as possible. it could be Costa, it could be Lukaku, it could be some kid playing for Torquay - i don't care, just find him and sign him up

Haven't read through all of this thread----

Will Costa be our answer?............just my thoughts...as this season pans out we definately need someone top class..

Do we play the style of football to suit Costa? from what I've seen of him he's more like the Torres of old, hit him with the ball early and let him outpace, out muscle the centre halves (and a lot like the Drogba of old)......yes he can score in the box when the ball is put in there and would terrify defenders and hassle them, but we don't whip many decent crosses in.......  can he play the 1 touch give and go style that we seem to want?, but will he wait til Hazard/Willian have finished their stepovers before making his runs or just get bored making runs when he knows the ball isn't coming..........(but thats another point for another day---we are too slow to release the ball)

Do we play the ball up to him early to hold up play ....can he do it like Drogba did and shield the ball while bringing others in---though if this is the method that all means a change of style back to the old system rather than current one.

Thoughts

Anyone but what we have will be our answer.

Hopefully it's the last we see of Torres and Ba at least gets a chance (unless he's doing hee haw in training).

Pray for Eto'os recovery though as our season hangs in the balance based on him recovering.

we're aiming for the title with like 6 games to go, of course theres pressure, i think his antics have (mainly) been ironed out, he'll still dive now and then, maybe feign injury, but i dont think he'll go so far as biting anyone or kicking scott parker in the stomach again

Well he left his foot in on Lloris the other day, i still think under certain pressures he would do these things again. Liverpool haven't been in desperate position at times this season that is why it looks like Suarez has changed.

The game against Villa was the perfect example that when Liverpool are under pressure, Suarez will do anything to win, and he did, he dived to win a penalty.

Also we could do with a nutter in our team, apart from our defence our team is too soft, nice and easy to play against.

That's right mate! Misters sweet guy at front in our squad, bring in Costa and he tears up opponent defenders!

Someone asked about Luke Shaw during dinner, 3 different employee said Chelsea already got him and Diego Costa for sure.

This has pretty much been the story since January whether it's accurate fact just people putting two and two together.

Ashley is pretty much all but done as a Chelsea player so with Shaw being a Chelsea fan it just adds up and Costa's pretty much the only striker that is a realistic option. It's not the worst educated guess in the world
