Diego Costa to Chelsea

Featured Replies

I'm sold on him already.  Looks tremendous.  Much faster than I thought he would be and he looks terrifying to play against.  He's the sort of striker who is going to cause all manner of problems to opposition defences, and keep it up for the full 90.  He'll bully defenders, intimidate them, man handle them, kidnap their children and score in their moment of grief.  His own scoring value isn't all he's going to bring, he created a lot of opportunities for our wingers and midfielders to score - and I can't wait to see how this works when Hazard, Oscar and Schurrle are back in the side.  Not to mention how much they'll improve with Fabregas distributing from midfield.

I'm extremely happy with how Jose has addressed our issues so far.  We were only 4 points off City with some glaring weaknesses, and being over-reliant on Hazard.  Now we've addressed those weaknesses in a big way.  We're really looking formidable.

Watched this video today. I amazed how good he was. Torres of Liverpool also loved to run past defenders and beating them by pace and good finishing.

Costa is very much similar to him he also love to run past defenders albiet a 'bit' slower than Torres but have exceptional movement and good finishing.

I hope he have the same impact as Torres did for Liverpool.

I cannot believe if we weren't sold a donkey , this guy torres was electric in front of goal . If he was here today there would be no need for Drogba or costa ,

Oh how we can dream

Typical scousers to sell a dummy

Will people STOP moaning about his temper, you don't understand football at all, keep to play station ! Without it he would be half the player. Remember David Speedie ????? Jesus without that edge he and Kerry wouldn't have formed such a potent strike force. We have Drogba as back up should he get banned for 3 games, get over it for god's sake.

You are right BUT temper gets you suspensions, red cards. I think people are just genuinely worried about those things.

It didn't last season for him, in fact he's only had 2 reds his entire career. Though quite a few yellows.

No retrospective action in Spain. He would have received quite a few more bans over in the PL.

He got 7 yellow cards and 0 reds in La Liga last season, that's 1 ban here isn't it?

11 yellows and 0 reds the season before, which I think is 2 bans?

3 missed games in 2 years isn't too bad, the likes of Ramires and Luiz get a lot more than that. Torres probably gets close to that.

No, what I mean is there were other incidents, headbutting, spitting, a bite if I recall correctly - none of which was seen by the referee so no punishment in Spain. Suarez on the other hand has been banned for 34 games since 2010, never once receiving a red.

So what I'm getting at is if he did the exact same things in the PL, unseen incidents included, he would have missed many more games.

Luiz get a lot more than that.

Luiz highest ever yellow card number in a single season for us was 8. 0 reds.

So maybe Costa will replicate that with having the reputation but not the record.

Well 8 compared to 11 is one extra suspension, so yeah I suppose we should all be outraged and concerned about that 1 game extra he'll miss a year, if we aren't taking into account the fact everyone in la liga dives at the slightest contact.

I don't think he's ever bitten anyone and there is nothing to suggest he will start spitting at everyone because of 1 or 2 isolated incidents in Spain where presumably he knew he couldn't face any retrospective action as you said.

It's more than 2 isolated incidents and there's nothing to suggest he won't. We can only hope Jose can temper his aggression.

At around 2mins there's an attempted one at least.

If he scores >25 goals for us like he did for Atletico I will forgive him those 1-2 suspensions ;)

You've got to set your priorities right guys.

Not sure if you're being facetious with the wink face but this sounds awfully liverpooly.

Why are people on this forum so obsessed with the dippers that's the 3rd time I've heard this sentance today.

The Stockton Malone type

Now there are two names I have not heard together for a long time. Be wonderful if Fabregas and Costa had half the partnership and vision of those two. Of course basketball has far more opportunities than football.

That video was pretty funny... Love the bit about him lookinglike Oscar's father.

What on Earth was Costa doing to that kid. What possibly could have the kid say or maybe not say to get decked by Costa. Kid was what 9 years old?
