October 19, 201411 yr Are Southampton genuine top four contenders this season? We'll see how they go with injuries & it's a long ol season but wouldn't it be bloody fantastic if they did?
October 19, 201411 yr Are Southampton genuine top four contenders this season? No, their squad will be found out to a certain degree as the season wears on. Top half for sure, maybe at a push a Europa league place. Can't see them cracking the top 4 though. Would love to be wrong though.
October 19, 201411 yr Must be just me who agrees with the sentiments of his tweet then! Yes he's a tool, but Arsenal have been bumming their fans for years now. Penny pinching on wages and transfers whilst the profits keep rolling in. For me Wenger had his day a few years ago and they should have moved on from him, but the board stick with him as a safe option because he gets them in the top 4 every year, and that's all they care about. I'm not disputing that, it just reeks of a spoilt fan spitting his dummy out.

Would love to be wrong though. I'd normally agree because we always see teams start well then finish mid-table. But their rivals for the top 4 (Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, Everton have all started really poorly and aren't looking like improving. I would love to see Southampton make top 4.

I think it will depend on the January transfer window, if they bring in 2 or 3 good players then they may keep it going, but as Blue Exile says their squad will see them struggle, especially during December. Be good to see them in the top 4 though I agree.
October 19, 201411 yr I agree it'd be great to see the likes of Southampton break into the top four. Koeman's got them working really well at the moment. I wonder how the guys that jumped ship over the summer feel about that now.

I know what you're saying and I agree the Spuds look garbage, but I think Liverpool and Arsenal are still more than good enough for top 4, I'm not ruling United out either, they have way too much talent to not be in the conversation, they will surely add some defensive players too in January. It's still only October, over a 38 game season talent will always win out over a team punching above its weight or just clicking as a really good team unit I think.

I think United will definitely make top 4, along with us and City. The teams I named will fight it out for the remaining place, I think. Although Everton and Spurs probably won't be in contention for it towards the end of the season. Edited October 19, 201411 yr by RichardCFC
October 19, 201411 yr I'm in a quandary this afternoon. There no two teams I like to see lose more than QPR and Liverpool. It'll be great to see Liverpool get beat by the bottom team, although watching QPR get a right royal stuffing is just as brilliant. Logically then, the best thing would be a 0-0 draw so neither team win but that just doesn't feel very satisfying to me. It's a modern dilemma. Edited October 19, 201411 yr by Huttsey
October 19, 201411 yr I would prefer a Liverpool loss but a draw would be good I suppose. If QPR get relegated, they are in serious trouble financially. I would love nothing more than to see that disgusting club burn to the ground. However, a Liverpool loss would make some good RAWK reading later on while I'm on the bog.
October 19, 201411 yr Hopefully Ferdinand will come back into the team when we play them. JT to beat him on the near post and score the first goal.
October 19, 201411 yr I'm with Huttsey, Liverpool still need bringing down a peg or two and watching them lose is possibly the funniest thing in all of football (apart from Wenger when he's trying to out his hands in his pocket). Thrilling score draw akin to Palace v Liverpool last season would be good.
October 19, 201411 yr ^ I hope that Liverpool lose and QPR are due an upturn in form BUT QPR are shockingly bad. A draw or a loss by Liverpool to QPR will be seen as a disaster by lots of Scousers.
October 19, 201411 yr I normally love seeing QPR losing but for this one, a Liverpool loss would trump it.
October 19, 201411 yr ...mass brawl, red cards... Refs don't red card Liverpool players. Not even Suarez.
October 19, 201411 yr Interesting facts this weekend: Sterling - too tired for England, plays today. Allen - too injured for Wales, plays today Lovren - too injured for Croatia, plays today Ramsey - too injured for Wales, played yesterday. Costa.......
October 19, 201411 yr Ferdinand dropped by QPR. How much more embarrassing could it get? Also Markovic still can't get a start for Liverpool, I remember reading a fair few Liverpool fans mocking that he supposedly rejected us to sign for them... How's that working out for ya?
October 19, 201411 yr QPR are too awful, Liverpool will spank them about 4-0 QPR have dominated so far.
