Strange that given how awful Balotelli was for 90 mins, he still played the whole game. Rodgers clearly doesn't fancy Lambert any better... 2 great signings!!!  :laugh2:

Good post ^ Mr Pink re. Balotelli.

My concern/surprise is when a manager takes on soneone like Balotelli (i.e. someone who others have found it hard to manage) because it seems like a manager saying 'I can manage x person even though he's been a nightmare for others'. It's counter-intuitive and a huge risk.

my word Liverpool are a poor side...how qpr contrived to lose that is an indication of how poor they are too...as frazier from dad's army would say...they're 'dooooooooooooooomed'

I suppose it's a bit early to judge but I'm quite disappointed in what I've seen so far. His efforts on goal are lazy, and greedy when others are better placed.

Think the whole thing about the lad is that he's a quirky character, and gets a lot of headlines. His off the ball movement isn't great, and that's being kind. A fella I work with said that signing baolotelli would cost BR his job in the long run. Def need to sign a decent forward in January as DS is clearly incapable of playing anywhere near the number of games that would be expected of him.

And as for today, we were utter dirge. The chattiest of chatty bistids. Some decent moves at times but not enough of it.

But 3 undeserved points are always very welcome.

I still think he will come good, that's not just because I was one of the ones that wanted to sign Balo, but I do rate him as a player.

As for the whole Costa situation though I was definitely wrong, I'm very happy we got Costa instead of Ballotelli, not to rub that one in of course. The thing with Balotelli is that he's that big headed the whole criticism won't even effect him in the slightest I bet, I don't even think he feels pressure, so I think he will eventually start playing well for Liverpool if he keeps getting the freedom. However this is still a big job for Rodgers, you can't give Balotelli to many luxuries, we all know what his past is like, whether he has realised that he needs to calm down now and be mature is still yet to be seen I'm afraid.

You said the same about Giroud on TC. You need to slo your roll a bit mate

I did?

That's surprising because I've never liked or rated Giroud.

yeah..you were saying after his horrible debut that you thought he had the quality to overturn that performance. Instead he continues to poop on himself. Then he got busted trying to creep around his old lady. IMHO that fool is a perfect fit for the woolwich wanderers = Underachievers United  I have always rated Gignac of L'OM over him, but what do I know? Great entertainment this weekend after a boring International break

.

Annoying that Liverpool stole a win they didn't deserve but if it is at the expense of QPR and media darling Arry Redknapp then I guess it is still very funny...

Balotelli was dire and the rest of King Brenny's summer signings also looked average

Also fascinating that Redknapp claimed Taarabt is '3 stone overweight' and has a dreadful attitude. Doesn't surprise me though .

Vargas looked sharp when he came on. I was surprised QPR could attract a player like him on loan from Napoli  - his strike rate for the Chilean national side is a goal every other game

Vargas was awesome at the world cup. He finished off a brilliant counterattack to score the opener against Spain and did the tournament a favor by removing the most boring team.

Who is John Galt?

No idea but he posted earlier 'Leroy Fer is the worst player in the league' which I thought was a ridiculous comment about a talented player.

John Galt could be my alter ego once Ive had a beer too many

Looking forward to motd. Liverpool are no threat and I really want to see both palace and qpr relegated.

Agree Liverpool are no threat I would be surprised if they finish in the top 6.

I dislike QPR and I feel indifferent towards Palace but I like having local teams in the PL, prefer having Southern teams in the league and beating them rather than having teams like Wolverhampton and Middlesborough in the league

Good to have a few London clubs for sure but an overload could possibly hinder us.

More over I just want palace gone solely because of that banner. Qpr because they're qpr. Would be happy to see the likes of Fulham back, but that looks very unlikely

The banner isn't really a big deal though. A group of 5 palace supporters probably came up with the idea over a stupid banner to hit out at Abramovich. I don't think Roman is losing any sleep. They would have been better off making  a banner about City or United or Liverpool because in recent times we have been very prudent and conservative in the market..

In an ideal world (my opinion ) would like to see Brentford, Fulham and Watford promoted

Didn't Giroud get 20+ goals and 10+ assists the following season? Seems like he did come good.

Giroud is OK - big, strong, fairly unselfish and with decent movement. He's not a great finisher though - his goal tally looks OK, but he needs a lot of chances.

He is talking absolute crap. There is no way they could 'cross reference' whether a vote was by a millwall fan or not. Site required no login so even if you were a registered millwall fan (wherever you would do that) they wouldn't be able to tell whose vote is whose.

If they didn't want the pink strip why include it? Probably just so whatever site hosted it could get ad/click revenue from the obvious potential for a laugh.

Let me translate "cross-reference" for you:

We have no idea how this internet thingy works and by the time we realised what a mistake we made with this poll it was already too late to cancel it. So we payed a couple of experts for advice who came up with an excuse for us to save face and we picked and acceptable kit ourselves.

Redknapp yet again feeling the need to air dirty laundry in public to take the blame off of himself, calling his own player fat. Funny how he magically gets all these players under him whilst no other manager seems to have problems.

Meanwhile, when talking about his own management, he has nothing but praise.

I do my best every day, I come in early, every morning I'm at the training ground early and I leave late at night. "I love my job, and I do my best: I can't do any more and there ain't no one could do any better here at the moment than me, I don't think.  "I hear other names mentioned, but they couldn't do any better than what I can do, that's for sure."

Anyone else hope liverpool don't get thrashed Wednesday? I don't like that happening to english teams as it makes our league seem sh*t. Unless it's us giving out the thrashing.
