The "Ones to Watch" Thread

Featured Replies

Thought we might seperate this out from the "Random Rumours" thread and create a place for discussion of promising players around the world. Who are your picks to break out this season?

This season i'm keen to watch out for Iker Muniain (Bilbao), Luis Muriel (Udinese) and I would've said Manuel Lanzini formerly of River Plate, but he's chasing petro-dollars in the Gulf.

Was looking forward to seeing correa for atletico but he is out with heart surgery!

I think oliver torres and Juan quintero could have break out seasons at porto.

Memphis depay will smash the Dutch league this year and will be very highly sort after.

Excited to see markovic and can but obviously hope they don't do too well.

I think lucas moura moura could have his first big season in Europe and start to live up to his price tag.

Just going on what I saw from him in last seasons youth cup, I am keeping an eye on Fulham's Patrick Roberts.

Although we won, he was the best player on the pitch and really did look something special. He's only 17 but he won't be at Fulham for too long.

Not sure if he counts but Calum Chambers has impressed me at Arsenal so far. He's had one proper season so far but he looks a really good prospect.

I've rated Marc-Andre Ter Stegen for two or three years and he could be world class. I think he's 21 now so not really a prospect but time will tell whether he makes it at Barcelona.

Martin Ødegaard, 15(!) years old, a regular and one of the best players on the second best team in Norway. Got his national team debut two days ago.
Chased by every big club in Europe.

Did you watch him against Everton? I thought he was crap. Only one game I know but I'm haven't seen anything to understand the hype so far.

He caused us all kinds of trouble, apparently hes been the only bright spot so far for them coming on in the last 20 minutes or so.

I thought Chambers was impressive against Palace but especially Besiktas where he dominated the defence. I must admit I didn't watch the Everton game, apart from Match of the Day. I just think he looks like a player far beyond his years and is a talented 19 year old.

I've learned not to trust my football managing games ever since "Reuven Oved", a 19 year old in Total Club Manager 2003/04, who in the game turned out to be the best player in the world within a couple of years. It turns out he's now plying his trade in the Israeli fourth division.

Surprised Depay didn't end up moving for big money this summer.

I've heard good things about River Plate's Matias Kranevitter. Balanta is also one of their best players despite his tender age.

Boca's Luciano Acosta seems to be Riquelme's successor-elect.

Barcelona's Munir El Haddadi seems to be one of their brightest talents and has already made an impact in La Liga.

Ecuador's Carlos Gruezo has been making an impression at Stuttgart.

Our most promising talent ATM is probably Club Brugge's Matt Ryan despite his mediocre WC.

A poster in our nearest & dearest thread posted a link to rawk, like a fool I clicked on it, it seems every poster (bar one) on there is so full of hate

for Chelsea that every word of every post seems to be a expletive & only now & again do they write a non expletive word, there should be a

government health warning on entering such forums especially rawk.

I guess though they are more to be pitted than scorned, the poor deluded fools.

For health reasons I'd say RAWK is definitely not one to watch

I don't know, i tend to laugh when looking at it. Laughing is good for you
