Gareth Bale to Chelsea

Featured Replies

I can't see it.

I think I'd rather have a few excellent signings than just one huge one.

We will need a centre back, back up keeper, back up striker and a central midfielder on top of another wide player.

That's going to cost a huge sum of money.

Of course we now have additional income but we still need to be smart, it's probably doable to get Bale and a few others but I can't see us spending £150 odd million the season after we spent over £100 million on several players.

Why do you think we need so many players?

Back up keeper is easy enough, only going to cost a couple of million at most.

Back up striker isn't a necessity, say Drogba retires Remy becomes clear 2nd choice and then we could promote Bamford to help with the homegrown contingent and give the academy a chance to prove itself.

Not sure we need a centre back personally, we already have Terry, Cahill, Zouma and Ivanovic who all can play there, perhaps if we did sell Ivanovic like some rumours have suggested we might be in for a defender but I'm not so sure right now.

Central midfield I think is likely to be strengthened but with the likes of Khederia and Millner available on free transfers there are options out there. Plus that means we are likely to sell one of, if not both of Ramires and/or Mikel so funds are raised that way.

Leaving the wings... If we don't target Bale we are already pretty covered plus you have Salah and Moses on loan who could potentially be recalled to give more depth.

Because we do IMO.

The keeper speaks for itself.

A centre back I think will be needed since Terry is a year older and we don't know when the years will start to show, Zouma and Cahill are very able replacements but I think another will be required. You could move Ivan in there but then you would need cover for Rb.

A central midfielder I think is a must also, whenever Matic or Cesc are missing we usually look a shadow of the team we usually are. Ramires and Mikel are decent back up options but neither can do the job of those two mentioned. Our options in the middle of the park aint great.

Striker I think will be needed because I don't buy that Jose is going to let a kid like Bamford who has not played in the EPL be a part of our squad next season, just no gonna happen. Remy I think will look to leave as his playing time is terrible and he deserves more while Drogba I think will move to a coaching role.

The wide area very much depends on if Salah comes back or we use one of our many returning loan players, I'm not too sure.

In any case if Bale is to move back to England I'm pretty certain it won't be to us.

Just the way I see it.

I'd agree to an extent but I don't think we'd have a lot left in the bank. Definitely not enough to fulfil all the weak links we've got in the squad.

I just don't think we need much added, maybe two top quality signings and we'd be pretty set.

Just as a hypothetical scenario we signed

Rob Green

Varane

Khedira

Bale

That's likely to cost somewhere in the region of £120m

We'll probably get £10m for Cech and then let's just say it was Ivanovic and Ramires who left, we would probably get something like £25m for the pair of them so that's £35m in player sales, add to that the additional £40m we apparently now have due to the new deals that's £75m that means we would be spending around £45m which doesn't sound like too much of a stretch on our current finances.

But even then I don't think we can rule out the idea of selling someone like Oscar, say he was sold to allow us to sign Bale that would take player sales up to something like £60-70m meaning that on player sales and the new TV and shirt money we'd be able to sign the players I listed.

Would you rather have Willian, Cuadrado and Salah or Gareth Bale? Id take Bale 10/10 times personally

It's not about what I'd rather have, I don't think I have ever said I don't want Bale?

Well, when you put it like that, yes obviously. How about this. Would you rather have Koke and Varane or Gareth Bale?

I was merely pointing out that quantity isnt always better then quality. As for your scenario, Id take Bale 10/10

Sell

Cech 10m

Oscar 35-40m

Ramires 15-20m

Salah 15m

Moses 7m

Drogba (Free)

Total: Like 85-90m

In

Green (dunno how much he'd cost)

Varane 40m

Bale 75m

Khediera/Milner (Free)

Bamfordinho

Total: like 105m+Keeper.

I think we're pretty safe?

Would take walcott over bale if money is an issue. However, that is dependent on what happens with walcott at arsenal. I have read a couple of places that he isn't happy with wenger. I dunno how much he would cost though, but I'd take him for that right side any time.

Yep - I think the player to go

The main concern about this potentially going ahead is that Real Madrid will naturally want a superstar signing in his place.

...Eden Hazard.

We know they've had their eye on Eden for a while now and they could use that as a bargaining chip.

He just signed a 5 year deal, it's not going to happen.

Eden ain't going nowhere anytime soon.

It will come down to Bale and what the fans want.

Right now the fans don't want Bale and history tell's you the men at the top tend to give the fans what they want.

I'd imagine Bale would be determined to prove his worth and will want another season at it.

Oh yeah... my bad!

I have no idea where tams are, is that achievable this season?

Well Real are in a bit of a slump while Barca are full throttle.

They could still win it of course but I'd say at this point it's a big ask.

Real fans are twats Bale was instrumental in their CL and Copa Del Ray wins

This is my favourite Bale goal. If Real Madrid fans supported him a bit more instead of booing him, he could do more of this for them.

They have been spoilt with Ronaldo.

They expect the same from Bale because he cost more than Ronaldo did but it was never going to happen.

Spoilt wasters, Bale is class and he has shown it on a number of occasions for them. They might soon just realise there is no other 'Ronaldo' out there for them to buy.

I really want him more than Pogba imo. Pogba would definitely improve our midfield and allow us to boss big teams, but I don't think it will solve our problems of killing Flat Track teams, which is the most important thing in winning the title. I'd rather get a good CM cover for Cesc like Schnieiderlin etc.

If we add Bale, these Flat track teams couldn't double mark Hazard, if they do they'd get ripped apart by Bale on the other side. I hope we get him...
