Best time to arrive at a game?

Featured Replies

30-45 mins before kick off. You'll get to see the players have a kick-about for a bit. I remember once I was at the Bridge JT kicked the ball out and he gestured at me to give it back to him. He looked me right in the eye! I took this pic at the time:

Can I get a beer easily once inside?

For your first game I'd get inside the ground around an hour before kick off. You'll want to soak up the atmosphere in my opinion.

Beers are expensive inside but they are available, except in the Family (East Lower) Stand.

I agree, for your first match about an hour before kick off. Time will fly by...and if you want to go in the shop before the game, that gets well busy so allow another hour for that too....

6 minutes after the game kicks off, because you were trying to get as much booze down your neck as possible. 45 mins is a long time to go without beer.

I am in Matthew Harding Lower, - dont they have 'beer girls' ? :D

No beer girls unfortunately. Hope you like SIngha beer. I don't but still drink it as there is no alternative.

Beer Girls in the West Stand.

Get as much booze in as possible, be that in or outside the ground - you only actually need to be in your seat 5 mins or so before as that is when the Liquidator etc start.

It's worth putting a proposal in on the official website.

I would be all for it.

Yes there is London Pride, but in bottles only...

Burgers inside the stadium are sh*t....I don't know where others eat their food but I go to the small stall at the entrance to Sir Oswold Stoll building, burgers etc they are good and all profits go to help service personnel,  it is next to the Kishmish Indian restaurant (which is also very good)...

beer girls sounds good....but how about cheerleaders like Palace?

Beer boys, terrific suggestion :-)

I remember my first Chelsea match. I was sat in an unfinished lower West Stand, about 45 mins before kick off, just happily looking around and enjoying the personal highlight. I'll never have a stadium burger ever again though, I swear my insides haven't been the same since.

Chicken and lattice fries is the bomb but its bloody expensive, as everything is in the stadium.

I sometimes eat at the Subway a couple of doors down from Brogans  :good2:

You can't beat Byron's.

Don't forget to get up and have a piss fifteen minutes before half time, always popular with others in your row.

And take your seat 5 minutes into the second half rather then getting there on time for the restart.

I always hope for goals close to the beginning and end of each half so the tossers miss them!  I nearly had an argument at PSG last year when a youngish guy was going for a loo break halfway through the second half and I had to move to let him out.

You had to stand up briefly to let him out or take a 6 inch step backwards?

Did you complain to stewards?
