Eva Carneiro

pride cometh before the fall.

That support she was thanking were people slamming her boss and employer. I know she isn't exactly a rocket scientist, but surely a doctor is smart enough to figure it out

I thought she thanked people for support?

Nothing horrific about that, this whole thing got out of hand because of José and his TV rant, not because of Eva.

What baffles me most about this situation is why the club's hierarchy didn't take Jose to one side and tell him to swallow his pride and publicly apologise to Jon and Eva. Mess sorted. That's assuming the club didn't think Jose was right all along.

...because we don't know all the facts?

Perhaps there has been more than we know.

Yup, as simple as what a simpleton would say..

*sigh*. Some people have no sense of humour. That's the trouble with the world these days.

Just because you thank people for support, doesn't mean you are speaking out against your boss. It's ridiculous, and hardly undermined Mourinho. Unless there was something more to it behind the scenes.

True, but when said support is attacking your bosses/employers integroty/behaviour, then yes you are thanking people for statements that are detrimental to your boss or employer.  Thats undermining your boss or employer.

what do ya expect her to do then? just take the abuse as good as it comes and act like nothing happen?

In this modern world, people don't tolerate tryrannism... jose acted like a tryrant over the saga which is not welcomed by the players..

Ok lets get some things straight.  Abuse?  Really?

Ok, lets learn about context.  You think that was anywhere near the most abusive thing shouted on the pitch that day?  When I worked on the trades and someone saw that I had forgotten to mount a box and yelled "son of a bitch"  was I subjected to abuse?  When the players shout at each other and the ref, as happens multiple times every single match, should we call the police to investigate abuse?

Its a football pitch and dare I say that puta da fila or whatever is probably more commonly said than either please or thank you?

 Or simply answer this if you want any merit on the stance: Why isnt it abuse when said to a man?

Legal liability.  You dont say sorry if it might end up being the reason you have to pay multi millions in damages.

Sure thing, pinhead... What? It's only banter.

Hitting back already? lol, i can take if i can give, no problemo..

However, it's a bit rich coming from someone who found fault with eva over the incident.. 'phila da phuta' from jose to eva and if she reacted, who can blame her? certainly not ya, walked right into that one, chills..

Please direct me to your linguistic report that overrides the experts of the time.

I'm not sure how most people would react if she did return. Would you rather have Jose Mourinho or a club doctor? - if she makes a return after this it'll look as though these events were somehow connected and would send a pretty odd signal to any future manager.

1) She should never have lost her job and been publicly embarrassed in the first place.

2) Having a woman in a visible position at a top club who is clearly very good at what she does is a good symbol.

3) From a personal perspective, the 'other' reason.

That's not really the choice we've had to make, merely one possibility offered by the consequences of what was (in my opinion) an inevitable decision.

It was entirely José's fault that Carneiro ultimately left; we've had an excellent injury record during her tenure, and if she is willing there is no reason we shouldn't have her back, and it would provide a neat ending to what was an incredibly unpleasant story which did not make the club look good at all.

How would it be good news? Who the f**k cares who the team medic is.

True, keep her and this bullsh*t out. She should never work here again. Not like it matters now with the sad state the club and people making the decisions here are in.

crikey....wouldn't care so much if it wasn't from you ploks:

1)  she didn't lose her job;

2)  maybe....but irrespective of gender, there was no 'constructive dismissal';

3)  ?

Sorry, poor choice of wording perhaps - she was demoted for doing exactly what she was supposed to do. I can't speak for why Jon Fearn didn't have the same reaction as her (i.e. he just got on with it) considering he was screwed in exactly the same way as her simply so José could cover his own arse.

Obviously I have no idea of the atmosphere behind the scenes so I can't really comment on whether or not her case can be classed as constructive dismissal (nor do I really possess the legal knowledge to do so). Clearly her reinstatement would have quite enormous ramifications on the outcome of the case but I would very much like to see us rectify what seems quite obvious to me to be a wrongful demotion. I imagine you can speak with far more authority than me on whether the legal implications have rendered the situation unsalvageable; I was basing my post more or less entirely on the reporter's belief that her reinstatement was possible (although as I said above, his article may wholly have been speculation).

3) is a not at all serious point - perhaps it could be described as a secondary motive on my part for having a female in a 'visible position' at my club (or anywhere else I suppose).

i would prefer lamps and drogba to return in some capacity. it would be nice to have them here when we need their personalities and influence behind the scenes.
