Oscar and Ramires out?

Featured Replies

We shouldn't sell either.

Ramires is a very good squad player to have in midfield and Oscar in my opinion needs competition for his spot. I'd like to see us buy a right sided midfielder and have Willian play central more often, the Cuadrado signing could of been it but he doesnt seem to have settled yet.

I do feel though if we get an offer for Oscar like Luiz/Mata then Mourinho will sell him.

Just a random question but; would you swap Oscar for Coutinho?

No, but I don't think there's much between them.

Would you swap mata for Coutinho or oscar?

I find this type of question so interesting. Bear with me, have you ever been in a work or team situation and a new person has joined? I can think of two memorable instances. We had a new person join, J, and they had such a positive effect, I remember being amazed at the overall effect this person had on the team and our outcomes; down the line L joined and caused such bother; group dynamics. As time went on none of the original work team existed after a period of two factions.

So, when we talk of new players, swapping players I always wonder how they will gel and the effect that may have either way. Chelsea seem a happy team and I don't mean that to sound flippant, but happy players will be productive surely.

It's a hard decision about Oscar. He's unstable in his form, but once he's in form he's awesome player and important in the starting squad. I agree that Oscar needs a competition but depends against which player. Players like Pogba, Isco, Vidal, Thiago Alcantara, De Bruyne which always looks in a good form, could compete Oscar but 80% they would replace him and Oscar will lose all from his motivation and from starting player he will be turned into a bench player.

If we will need cash and we will receive an excellent offer for Oscar, then I think we can think about selling, but if everything is good and we will receive a regular offer, then I don't see why to sell him.

Oscar is not worse than Coutinho, David Silva, Cazorla. I can even find him as the best AM in the Premier League, but his problem is form, once he would be available to keep a good form for a long period, I'm sure we will see how great he is.

What's up with the obsession with Koke? He's not at all a significant upgrade on Oscar. For spending 40m pounds, I'd want a player who is much better than Oscar.

oscar as good as silva? you cant be serious . . .

He does have 4 goals and 15 assists which is pretty good, but i think we need goals more than assists from our midfielders.

Well about 10 assists or so are from set pieces, other than that he isn't as creative as stats shows he is. Yup his scoring record is even worse than Oscar.

If we are to spend 40m I'd expect a signing of a player like Isco/Pogba(50-60m). Although Pogba would be very expensive but he'd improve our starting XI and will offer us something different (Pace, dribbling, power from deep).

Whereas Koke will be another player just like Oscar, with little creativity and much more work rate. I know work rate i what Jose prefers, but we need more than that to beat FTB teams which are the most material things in winning the title.

I'm going to keep my faith with Oscar however if we got a big bid for him it would be hard to refuse.

Although I personally hope we keep him which I think we will, Ramires is a tricky one, he seems really useful in certain games, however when relied on he has completely flustered in that central position, wasn't keep the ball well enough and that enough can ruin a whole teams performance.

So not entirely sure for Ramires I think I would be happy if he stayed, he is very useful in the big games. As for Mikel though I've been wanting him gone or years I'm not even contemplating on that, he's useful but that's about it, he can be replaced with a midfielder that actually has some drive, a midfielder who would want to start every game and wasn't just happy to sit around and get paid.

Koke is more versitale and way more reliable when to comes to the form than Oscar. I think it would be upgrade.

Keep both imo.

No, Oscar as good as he is is only good for half a season and after that just goes missing. Ramires is nearly pointless because he's just been terrible lately and only has a 1-2 good games out of dozens. I say sell them both (if we can find good backup)

Sell oscar and ramires for a combined fee of roughly 40-50m and buy Griezmann. and play Willian as the number 10.

I wasn't impressed with Willian as a number 10 today against Crystal Palace. He dosen't have the vision for a key pass and takes to many touches. I prefer Fabregas and Oscar over him in that position.

Against Leicester as well, Willian was very good when he was switched to RW in second half

Hmm I guess so, but the way we normally play the Am trio, they always switch up positions. Plus even if Willian isn't as good as a no.10 Griezmann can play well there

We just won the league title and still all you want to talk about is selling our current players and bringing new ones in. I know we need to look to the future but right now we fans should be celebrating the achievements of our current players, not talking about selling them on.

Im just continuing the conversation of this thread which started well before the league was won....

Which would be fine if that wasn't all you talk about. You seem to care more about who we sell and who we bring in than winning the Premier League title.

Im  very happy that we've won the title, but the important thing is maintaining this great team. Oscar as we know for the past 2 seasons has faded the 2nd half of the season which is a complete waste, and ramires is also getting slower and less useful. They also have reasonable value to them, therefore cashing in on them will be useful to sign other players that give us more depth in areas
