If they have used any US recourse in any criminal activity, jurisdiction is not a problem. I don't think they would have gone in with out a very very decent thread to pull on and I for one am hoping that one of the most corrupt disgusting organisations (second only to the UN) may finally become unraveled. Don't always agree with the international actions of the US but on this occasion I have to applaud them. 

 

Just hearing Fifa vice president has been arrested, one can only immagine what these people will give up to save there own skin, this could run and run.

 

It may be far  to early to speculate but how does this affect the world cup? if it's found that corruption was involved in the election of the forthcoming world cups, how are the other bidding countries compensated, can the existing world cups go ahead (hopefully not, cancel it all and make chelsea world champions) 

If guilty, surely Blatter has to stand down as all this has happened under his watch.

The culture of corruption and backhanders is the worst kept secret about FIFA and Blatter is figure head for it.

We need change at the very top for the good of the sport.

To be fair, the amount of people dying on a daily basis, living in beyond povourish conditions for this world cup, it should be pulled any way. That's the real injustice.

I agree with you, but by innocence I mean those not a party to the proceedings in this case, as in those not involved in the corruption/bribery/fraud etc.

I can't help but feel that not much will come of this in the wider sense. The two questionable World Cup tournaments will go ahead regardless and I even expect that Septic Bladder will survive this as it seems he's untouchable. We'll still have to wait until he pops his clogs before we see the back of him.

They where hardly going to change the narative now. No sefl respecting criminal of blatters status would start acting guilty now. It changes nothing, he will be sweating now, trying to work out where he is covered and where he is vunrable. this is a lot of people being taken down. As i said above, its just about pulling on the thread. 

I hope you're right but Blatter seems to me to be Teflon coated. His communications director said in the press conference; "He is just very calm, he sees what happens and is fully cooperative. He is not a kind of happy man today but knows this is the consequence of what we initiated. It's a surprise that it happened today but not a surprise that it happens." So they are trying to say that this was all their idea anyway and it's Blatter who is fighting the corruption. We'll see what happens but I suspect Blatter will survive this and there's more chance of Hell freezing over than Qatar being stripped of the World Cup.

Completely wrong my friend, it is a wonderful day for football..... so how much of the Blatter "fund" of billions is corrupt exactly ?

It would be good to see Blatter doing hard time in an orange jumpsuit, sharing a cell with  big Bubba the bast*rd, and sundry other loons, but I fear he will wriggle away from this and leave smaller minions to take the rap.

 

A rap on the knuckles all round, then business as usual, is my guess.

It looks like they are going after the Concacaf and South American Reps. Probably hoping to shake the proverbial tree and see what falls out. The Swiss are looking into the WC bids.
