Nobody will ever beat Paul Chowdry for most useless contestant mind Saw little Alex Horne & The Horne Section live in November, hilarious. Noel Fielding hiding himself as a banana in a fruit bowl is probably my favourite ever TV moment.

It's good how many comedians I didn't like before the show but ended loving them by the end of the series. Chowdry was one, Acaster was someone I wasn't sure about but his angry outbursts killed me ha ha. Others I still hated though, nish koumar did my head in, and that Scottish prick in season 8. February 5, 20206 yr I went to see Paul Chowdry live last year off the back of seeing him on taskmaster and he’s hilarious. I’m hoping Bill Bailey ends up doing it because he’s that good combination of intelligent and a complete weirdo!

March 4, 20206 yr Spitting Image to return. Will be broadcast on BritBox. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-51734335 A great programme back in the day. Let's hope the new series is just as good. Some great clips in the old episodes. Here's one of my favourites.
March 13, 20206 yr Very much enjoying Hunters on Amazon Prime and also re-running Hill Street Blues from the very start on All4 - That stands up really well considering it's 30-odd years old.
March 22, 20206 yr https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0006hn8/john-mcenroe-still-rockin-at-60 John McEnroe still rockin at 60. Enjoyed watching this documentary last night, Sue Barker presents an intimate profile of one of sport’s most famous characters, John McEnroe, who is still controversial despite turning 60 earlier this year. Sue travels to John’s New York home and meets his childhood friends, brothers Mark and Patrick, daughters Anna, Ava, Ruby and his wife Patty Smyth (the American singer and songwriter). Along with his greatest rival and close friend Bjorn Borg, they all help to unravel the contradictions of the man who could be number one in the world and at the same time public enemy number one. With unique personal access, Sue witnesses at first-hand the mystique of the dad, husband, coach, rock-star, art dealer and broadcaster. She visits John’s art gallery, attends one of his jam sessions and gets an insight from his rock-star buddy Chrissie Hynde into his passion for music. This is a man who has become far more than a tennis player, yet at 60 he is still competing, the oldest man on tour. A man at a crossroads in his life, he’s on the brink of retiring from tennis. Sue presents another side to the man who took Wimbledon by storm, shocking and delighting in equal measure, and is still as “seriously” unpredictable as ever… and a man who eventually won the hearts of Wimbledon
March 22, 20206 yr https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p0736hkr/the-fa-cup-rewind-quarterfinal-classics-part-1 Classic MOTD Rewind: Quarter-Final Classics Part 1 Guy Mowbray digs deep into the TV archives to unearth some classic games from the FA Cup sixth round. This programme includes Wycombe Wanderers' trip to Leicester in 2001, where the injury-hit Chairboys fielded a striker named Roy Essandoh - signed after an appeal for players who were not cup-tied on the BBC's Ceefax service. Also featured is Watford's trip to Arsenal in 1987 - the first season of George Graham's tenure as Gunners boss. The Arsenal team featured a young Tony Adams and David Rocastle, while the talents of John Barnes and Luther Blissett were among those on display for Graham Taylor's Watford side. West Bromwich Albion's meeting with eventual league champions Nottingham Forest in the 1978 season is also relived.

Great to watch clips from years ago. I'd forgotten that our former player, Paddy Mulligan played for West Brom. In the same game, Archie Gemmell had a bit of scuffle with Bud. A couple of months later they would be in Argentina with the Scotland squad. Commentary back in those days was so much better than it is today.
March 22, 20206 yr Just watched the highlights of Leeds v Rangers in the 1992/93 European Cup. Rangers had beaten Leeds 2-1 in the first leg at Ibrox so the game was nicely poised for the second leg at Elland Road. Rangers went 2-0 up with goals by Hateley and Super Ally. Leeds scored a late goal to make the aggregate score 4-2 to the 'Gers. Durrant bossed the midfield and the Rangers defence especially Bomber was superb. The Goalie (Andy Goram) made some great saves.

I watched it just to see the West Brom v Forest game from 1978 to be honest. Really enjoyed those highlights, with the great Barry Davies commentating. .Watching Arsenal get beat in their 1987 home game v Watford was a bonus !
April 7, 20206 yr I've been watching Justified season five recently. For some reason I got up to season 4 a few years back and just kind of forgot about it. It's still brilliant TV with great characters and a sharp script, and the episode where Raylan is after a computer hacker made me laugh a couple of times.
April 7, 20206 yr Marathoned A Series of Unfortunate Events over the last week or so. Enjoyed it a bunch, despite an unsatasfying final episode. Also probably not the best series to binge watch as the recurring format for each chapter can get repetitive.

April 16, 20206 yr Watched the star trek discovery thing, much better than expected, even my wife liked it and she hates Sci Fi. Started watching Devs on BBC2 last night, I thought it was a superb 1st episode, the music and atmosphere was beautifully done. Written by Alex Garland and his stuff is usually good, if not a bit f**ked up ha ha...

Richard Herring was on the Off Menu podcast with Ed Gamble & James Acaster a few weeks back and it reminded me how completely mental he is. Always liked him on Have I Got News For You/QI etc. mainly because of the absolute sh*te he dreamed up, would be another good one.
April 21, 20206 yr Have been watching episodes of Porridge which are being broadcast on BBC Iplayer. One of my favourite comedies and still great even after 45 years or so since it was first broadcast. A wonderful cast. @erskblueI remember you posting that you like Porridge.
April 23, 20206 yr Somehow I'm managing to enjoy Dark on Netflix despite the fact it's way too clever for me follow. Even after reading recaps online I only have a vague understanding of the overall storyline, which seems to be enough to keep me watching.
April 29, 20206 yr Anyone been watching Devs on BBC2? Its very dark (and complicated) but bloody good.
