Was a bit like a lot of previous things, and I think at the time it appeared to be trying too hard, so we gave up. Might go back to it on Iplayer. We very nearly did the same with The Wire, but there wasn't the variety of other stuff on at the time so we persevered with it, TF.

April 29, 20206 yr I've been rewatching The Sopranos it's good and it's been mentioned as the best show of all time I just can't agree with that. Critics loved the scenes with Dr Melfi and Tony but it's really just an angry man shouting at an intimidated and scared woman. More interesting is Dr Melfi when she has to visit a shrink because of seeing TS. It's good seeing young actors in small roles and trying to remember their names and what you've seen them in. The way wise guys dress is hilarious middle aged overweight men wearing full tracksuits half open to reveal a vest and a medallion and the New Jersey accent is pretty grating they all seem to have lisps as well !. As a footnote some shows don't work at all without an audience HIGNFY is the prime example it's just memes that everyone has seen already because we're spending more time on the net and it's showing how unfunny Paul Merton is these days.

I can’t stand these sort of shows now with the awkward silence after the jokes and complete lack of chemistry because nobody is in the same place. It’s just painful to watch.

I'm not a massive fan of panel shows apart from Would I Lie To You where everyone seems to be enjoying themselves rather than Mock the Week which is just one-upmanship and anything with Jimmy Carr just no.

April 30, 20206 yr The Last Dance on Netflix...The 80's and 90's look so amazing now in hindsight, it's like a documentary about the Chicago Bulls basketball team (the best team in the history of the NBA).

April 30, 20206 yr I've been rewatching King of the Hill lately. I haven't watched it since I was a teenager so it's almost like watching it for the first time. If anything, it's even better now that I'm a bit older and understand the characters better.
April 30, 20206 yr Gangs of London on Now TV. Written by the guy who directed The Raid and Raid 2 films. Very, very violent and also very very good! If you like watching people get shot in the head, limbs severed with machetes and bones broken, this is your show. It's got Joe Cole (not that one!) from Peaky Blinders in it. A power-struggle in the Big Smoke. Also watching Save me on Now TV. Dark, dark stuff, written by and starring Lennie James, who plays a man who is trying to find his abducted daughter. The Mandalorian on Disney+. Started off well but is meandering a bit now I've got to episode 4. Some filler guff and lack of plot. Edited April 30, 20206 yr by Blueblur

I can’t be arsed to pirate it

I can’t be arsed to pirate it I bittorrented it, unfortunately that often seems to be the most convenient way to access older stuff. Apparently you can find whole episodes on youtube as well, not that I've tried it.

Even got the series .Going Straight. about 'Fletch' after his release. I'm sure I read Ronnie Barker felt that he wished he'd made at least another series of Porridge and had regretted they'd stopped it when they did.
May 2, 20206 yr Started watching Ragnarok last night, dubbed scandanavian programme. Only saw episodes one but really enjoyed it.

May 4, 20206 yr Anyone else irrationally trying to ration what they're watching during the lockdown? I have 5 season's (and like 73 episodes) of Suits left but still wary about going through it too fast as i'm not the type to rewatch drama's, not even my all time favorite Prison Break.
