Well when you look at like that, but as PloKoon says, Mane was one of Southampton's best players last season.

I believe he had the best goals/minute ratio among midfielders after Sanchez. And he's only 23.

Southampton would be stupid to sell him. They have built up a decent squad in recent years, why go and ruin that by selling all of their top players ? Surely they aren't desperate for funds right now, they have received over £120 million in the last 2 seasons on transfers.

Yeah but if Man U come calling and the player wants to leave then he'll probably end up going.

adding another average player to an average over hyped over paid squad with IMO an average manager!!

saying that they'll probaby beat us now!

But surely it get's to the point where they have to think about themselves. They haven't started the season well, selling players this late in the window isn't going to help things.

City confirm the signing of Otamendi taking their spending on centre backs to £77m in two years.

If we're pushing for Stones then that's beginning to look like the going rate for centre backs now.

Think bigger. Something along the lines of Vennegoor of Hesselink.

How about Jesús Joaquín Fernández Sáenz de la Torre, also known as Suso.

I'm sure they can manage to get him without messing up. Probably.

The [inevitable] news of Otamendi signing for City is quite worrying; they've filled a hole in the first XI which has been a problem for a few years now (although Mangala has looked good in the first couple of games). Their first XI is now looking very strong, and they have a few different options formation-wise. The way it's shaping up, City are looking very good to be our main challengers for the defence of the title, and we're already five points behind.

have my doubts otamendi will be as good as some think, and believe they've overpaid for him immensely. however, it's city so couldn't really give sh*t; they can go sign king kong for all i care.
