But even if City have earned the higher figure quoted, surely we aren't a million miles off that ourselves? We've got a new improved shirt sponsorship, we must get near as damn it the same TV money and we haven't spent a great deal more than them in the last two or three windows. Maybe even less up to now? Certainly will have if they buy the two players they're expected to sign.

Seems a bit depressing that this more or less reinforces my belief that the final league positions are more or less decided at the end of August on account of expenditure on new players. And I'm sure I'm not far wrong in that belief. I think if City add these two players to their already strong squad, it's more or less a forgone conclusion.

The commentator on Sky Sports is annoying me already. Going on about Liverpool's history and their "historic" stadium and how it's a great occasion for Bournmouth to be playing there........seriously, nobody gives a sh*t.

That bloody song too. Are LFC a museum/tourist attraction or a football team?

f**k me. Ref? Goal surely?

Refs need to make their minds up, either blow for foul on all pulling and pushing in the area or don't give a foul at all. They seem to pick and choose when to give a foul or not.

In fairness they did win the league over 20 years ago. How come we can't get the breaks like the dippers

Yep. This decision smacks of a ref being swayed by being at Anfield. They should be consistent or (my real bugbear) the linesmen should be confident enough to speak up if the goal looks ok to them.

So a good goal disallowed and an offside one given. Great officiating.

I've seen some pretty woeful officiating already and we're only 2 weeks in. The decisions this evening, referee forgetting that players can be sent off yesterday at Selhurst, it gets worse and worse every week

Tbh I think the one there on Coutinho by Daniels is the worst of the whole lot, it single handedly confirmed the new rule that you cannot touch another player on a football field

Bournemouth are well out their depth here..

They are. It'd be interesting to see how the game would have progressed if the goal had been allowed but Bournemouth are outmatched.
