John Stones

Everton should reject it, after the window he'll carry on playing to the best of his ability then sell him at the end of the season for the same money we're offering now. If he has a good season people will be willing to pay it.

Well that's what I would want if I were an Everton fan.

What if he doesn't have a good season though? His stock is at the highest point now.

I don't think we're particularly angry at Chelsea btw. I do think your club could've handled it more classily but ultimately it's worked, so people will point to that and say 'they're the realities of modern football'. I have a slightly more naïve and sentimental attachment to the game still, and obviously when you have that, you're more vulnerable to those realities.

People are more angry at Stones for the timing. People can see why he'd be interested in going, and people can see why Chelsea would want him. The conspiracy theorists are pointing to the board. We'll have to see what comes out in the next few days.

Anyway, assuming you get him now, enjoy him because you're going to love him and once he gets in the team regularly, he'll kick on and you won't need to worry about his position for years and years.

f**king arsehole, wonder if it's one of these Everton twats on here.

If they did then that is really f**king sad. But there is a lot of pathetic f**kers out there so i wouldn't be surprised by this.

Don't think Stones is unhappy at Everton.

The manager and fans rate him, he's developed well there but he wants to take the next step in his career.

Everton (within their rights) blocked the move but Stones by handing in a transfer request is stating he feels ready to make the move now and would prefer Everton didn't stand in his way.

Will he be unhappy if he doesn't secure a move now? I think so but he'd get his head down and keep playing the best he can because ultimately the only reason Everton won't sell is because they rate him so highly.

Basically Everton need to decide if the want to cash in now or try to get another 12 months out of him.

I think the attitude of our fans on here is embarrassing to be honest. One day Real Madrid may come knocking for Hazard.

I think it's fair enough. We have taken a lot of sh*te from Everton fans over the last few weeks, if they had kept their mouths shut then we wouldn't be reacting this way.

Why shouldn't they though, I'd be pissed off too.

In what way, all Chelsea have done is made bids for a player, something every team does all the time. Something your club did when you bought him from Barnsley.

I guess the pressure was too much to bear knowing his career will be going down the crapper at Everton, I would think though he wouldn't do this unless he knows where he wants to end up.

Does anyone know how contracts are structured...if he puts in a transfer request can he stipulate which club he wants to go to and if he doesn't get it, withdraw his request?  Or by handing in a request is it the club that can pick and choose who they sell him to?   And then what happens if he refuses to go to the club Everton decide to sell him to....is that ever happened?

I don't think we'll be signing up to their forums to tell them they have no history and are funded by the royal family/government and that's why they're successful though so it doesn't count. We've taken a lot of sh*t from them of late, they should be able to take it back

If they wanted to pay double what he is worth maybe I speak for myself but I would be fine with it, if they offered us today 120 million I would say farewell son, it's been good while it lasted, right who can we bring in...

And we could quite easily tell them to f**k off. We don't need their money like Everton probably want or need ours.

And not every player in the world wants to play for Real Madrid I expect.

Dunno about that, I think they all do...except the legend that is slippy G

Why do they? It's not some utopia of football. How long have they played second fiddle to Barca?
