August 30, 201510 yr I can accept losing to Citeh, but come on, dropping points at home to Swansea and Palace is not really great is it? palace are second in the table! i know it means nothing after 4 games but they're doing something right obviously. swansea we had a man sent off so a draw was an acceptable result vs a very good swansea side, city was always gong to be a tough game after the doctor fiasco surrounding the club behind the scenes, west brom away with 10 men from 50 odd mins onwards was a top result and well grinded out, but yesterday was a poor result and individual performances once again let us down. August 30, 201510 yr It isn't the losses themselves that are the issue most people have, it is how they were lost and how Chelsea look and those claiming it is only 4 games are ignoring the glaring basic facts that it is a 50% loss rate and we've conceeded nearly a third of the goals we did for the entire season last year in only 4 games.

And we have already dropped a third of the points we dropped the entire last season. And in my opinion although we won it by a lot last season i would say we will need more than 87 points to beat city this time round.
August 30, 201510 yr It's very difficult to retain a title, but we really shouldn't be making it this title. People go on about how this can be our bad spell and they would rather start badly and finish well like we did in 2013/14 when we fought for the title. The difference is in 2013/14 after 4 games we had only narrowly lost to Everton, won 2 games at home and drawn at Old Trafford. In my opinion the title has gone, I don't think City are an outstanding side but a good start is just so important which we as fans can testify after last season. If we can finish second and maybe win a trophy it would be great, but right now drastic changes need to be made to the SQUAD WE HAVE RIGHT NOW instead of throwing money at Pogba or some other ridiculous name that will need another 4 bloody weeks to settle. Jose needs to work with what we have, because we have all seen that what we have in our ranks is good enough
August 30, 201510 yr So just watched the highlights on MOTD because I had my own game at the same time so never seen it but... My thoughts: - every team we play against just attacks our right hand side, Ivanovic is such a liability out there. - we had chances to score more that we really should have taken. - palace 1st goal was extremely lucky that it fell back to his feet but I suppose you make your own luck. - Adams is wrong, the shirt pull on Zouma is a blatant foul whether he's winning the ball or not, so it's a penalty, still that's no excuse. - I don't think I seen hazard once on the highlights which I'm assuming means he was pretty quiet. - we're still defending like an amateur team at times, I still think we need reinforcements. Fair play to palace, looks like they deserved it but we will not retain the title unless we bring in reinforcements, sorry but for all the work Willian does we need a no10 that can score and assist, he does neither.
August 30, 201510 yr Obviously I love Brana and it saddens me to say this but I desperately hope that was whom Jose was referring to when he said a player played poorly for the full 90. Our defences on that side are just so evident and a change needs to be made immediately, so we can get our season back on track. That doesn't mean going out and wasting money, it means getting Baba fit and ready in the two weeks until Everton and bringing him in with Azpi on the right
August 30, 201510 yr Feel quite despondent after yesterday. The chances of us retaining the title are very slim indeed now. The only positives from the game were Kenedy's and RLC's cameos, coupled with an excellent first goal for Falcao. So many underwhelming performances in the team yesterday that I don't really know where to start. Ivanovic has got to be dropped, along with Fabregas, who continues to be utter dross defensively. If he's not providing assists and creativity then there's point him being in the team. Hazard has to wake up too. I'm a total loss as to how we've regressed so much since last year. What on earth has happened? I almost get the sense that something has occurred behind the scenes. It's a shame that there's the international break now for us fans but perhaps it could be a good thing for the players. Everton away will be very tough indeed and we need a marked improvement or we'll get stuffed. Edited August 30, 201510 yr by Celery1989
August 30, 201510 yr I think the most worrying thing is that is isn't just one or two players performing badly; its consistently across the entire team. Very difficult situation to fix at the moment, but if there's a man to do it it's Jose Mourinho.

I agree, this isn't a simple problem, just dropping Ivan is not going to solve it by itself, (although that might be a part of it). There's underperformers all over the pitch. I don't know the answer (neither do any of you!) but I'll leave it to Jose to fix.

Not sure if it could be possible, but I believe it is because of the falling out with the medical staff, all the players liked & above all trusted them, why Jose took to castigate them for just doing the job & left a nasty taste around the place we will never know nor the players I'm guessing.
August 30, 201510 yr Matic on the left side can help Dave and the left centre half but Fabregas once someone has gone past him is out the game. With Branna once he goes forward can't get back, Fabregas out of position, so Zouma or whoever comes across and then we are open in the middle. Second goal and the shot by Cabaye in the first half are two examples I saw from my view in the North upper and there were others as well. Matic is also tired after 70 mins because of the work rate he has to get through so we lose pace from three players in an important area of the pitch.
August 30, 201510 yr 3 out of the top 4 played maybe our start is not so bad Everton will go top 4 if they beat us, we're canon fodder at the moment.
August 30, 201510 yr OK I haven't seen much of our play this year so to all of you who have I`m talking sh*te and that`s fair comment. But after four games to be pushing the panic button I just don`t see it. We are a team that a few months ago won the league. Can we repeat last seasons magnificent triumph?I don't know but I have faith that we can mount a challenge. Did our rivals not have blips throughout last season ? Granted this start restricts our ability to have further f**k ups but we are more than capable of doing it. We are Champions let's remember that. Edited August 30, 201510 yr by Carloseyebrow
August 30, 201510 yr I'm a big fan of Ivanovic and his performances this season seem very uncharacteristic and appear to have led to detrimental performances for the team (opinion ;-) certainly not a fact). His contract runs out at the end of June 2016 and I haven't seen any speculation regarding its renewal so perhaps this is affecting his performances on the pitch?

Yeah and his performances on the pitch, if they carry on this way will surely have an effect on his contract renewal!! Catch 22

Since January we were grinding out results. Preseason was a mess. This isnt just a blip, this is a crisis.

September 2, 201510 yr Our poor form started long before this season. Since January we were grinding out results. Preseason was a mess. This isnt just a blip, this is a crisis. I would say this is more of a 'bad moment'. In all seriousness, when our top players actually reach full match fitness I would expect a serious upturn in our performances. This is perhaps the most welcome international break I've ever encountered...

No clue how anyone can think we are crap the players look tired and dejected and we are losing games because jose shouted at a member of the medical staff that no one would have known if she didn't have a semi-nice arse...and has now but her back room, if that's what it takes to dislodge champions and Jose Mourinho, I'm watching the wrong sport
