I told you yesterday to have a word with yourself when you suggested the club were not in favour of African players, then someone reminded you of Drogba. 

Not to mention Claude Makelele,born Dem Rep of Congo.Micheal Essien and Marcel Desailly both born in Ghana.

The club likes any player who is deemed good enough to be within the squad by the manager. We have a good record of having African players within our ranks in recent times,add to that we employ in Michael Emenalo the only African in a high profile position within the Premier League. We as a club are a truly diverse. African players though are at a disadvantage when playing in Europe in the form of the ACON. Playing it within the European season leaves the clubs light of key players for upto six weeks. With this in mind it would be foolhardy to have any more than three within a squad of twenty five if the club is to compete on an even keel within this period.

I'd love to know what the reasoning was behind this signing. Glad he's gone on a permanent deal and not yet another loan, I have nothing against the guy but probably the most pointless signing in my 20 odd supporting years.
