Porto vs Chelsea (CL) 29/9/15 KO: 19:45 BST

That depends on what the price is. IF we are after him, he probably won't be cheap with the way the prices have been skyrocketing recently.

That's true. Porto never sell cheap anyway.

even though it may not be a must win for the outcome of the group, cant help thinking that after the fiasco up at St James, the team (whomever is picked) needs to

make a statement to the fans and the owner and actually play some good football and try to win the game, not play like a League 2 outfit and/or sit back and wait for the counter, but I wont hold my breath

I think also what will be the mentality of the team i.e. play and get a draw in Porto because the match on Saturday is a must win. IMO Chelsea goes and parks the bus with Matic and Obi Mikel or Ramires in front of the backline of Branna, Cahill, JT, and Azpi. The remaining squad will be Hazard, Oscar, and Willian and Costa up top

-------------------------Begovic----------------------

Branna---------Cahill------JT----------Azpi

-------------Obi Mikel --------Matic------------

----------Oscar------Willian----------Hazard

---------------------Costa --------------------------

Defend, Defend, Defend and perhaps nick one on a set piece or counter. Wouldn't be surprised for a scoreless draw.

If Jose brings in some changes I think we will do ok ... If he doesn't we will struggle as per Prem.

I'd like to see RLC, Baba, Kennedy start ...

Jose's press conference video isn't up yet, so this is for anyone who is interested on what was said during the conference.

"Mourinho's call for consistency":

Jose Mourinho says none of his current squad is untouchable ahead of Tuesday night’s Champions League group game at Porto.

The manager, who famously led tomorrow night’s hosts to the Champions League in 2004, admitted he is looking for more consistency from his players after our mixed start to the campaign. He has everybody available for the game except the injured Thibaut Courtois, withDiego Costa’s suspension limited only to domestic football.

During his first spell in charge, Mourinho had labelled a number of his players ‘untouchable’ due to their regularly impressive form, but believes this season there are question marks throughout the group.

‘Zero,’ he answered, when asked how many would be untouchable this season. ‘To be untouchable you have to be consistent. You have to be a fantastic player but you have to be consistent. We have fantastic players, the players who gave us the title last season, no doubts about it, but football is about today, not about yesterday.

‘In football you have to be consistent in your performance, consistent in your emotion. To be a winner you don’t need to win all the time, you lose, you cannot win all the time, but you need a strong mentality every game, every day.

‘In this moment I don’t have untouchables. I have very good players, players I like very much. I like my squad, I like their qualities, their human qualities, they are a very good group of guys. That’s a privilege to work with a group I like so much, no doubts about it, but untouchables, only consistency can give you that.’

Mourinho was critical of the side’s first-half performance against Newcastle on Saturday, and is hoping to see a repeat of that in the second period, in which we came back from two goals down to earn a draw.

‘When you play the way we did in the second half it’s because we can play that way,’ he said. ‘So I think it’s not a question of if we can, we need to want, and if we want, we need to want for 90 minutes. You can win matches playing well for 45 minutes, that’s possible, we almost did it, but normally to win matches of a high difficulty, we have to play better than 45 minutes.’

Porto currently lead the Portuguese league table, while we sit unusually in the bottom half of the Premier League. Mourinho said this will not influence Tuesday’s encounter.

‘We are not going to finish in that position and are sure to improve,’ the 52-year-old said. ‘The fact Porto is in first place is a normal thing, it is usual for Porto to be there due to the quality of the squad. They have big hopes for the Champions League.

‘Games away are always difficult in the Champions League. Porto tend to be a big team and it will be very difficult to play against them. They want to win. They know they are not going to face a weak team, as some think.’

I'm pretty relaxed about this game, maybe because it's just a group stage match. I think the slow paced European style of football suits us right now, we may even drop Ivnovic and Cesc for the game.

A draw in Porto would be a decent result. A win would be fantastic and really put us in a strong position for the remainder of the group stage. Hoping Willian and Rambo start after their performances at the weekend. I imagine Costa is back up front. Other than that I'm expecting few changes, despite Jose's comments in the presser.

Here's Jose's press conference for this game.

I'm not really agreeable on this whole "consistency = untouchable" thing that he was talking about, guess we will wait for tonight's lineup to see.

In any case, good and honest pressie by him. Hopefully, our team will be motivated to play well tonight.

A draw will do well, just hope we play a bit better.

We've been lacking desire and intensity for a while now. Need to crank it up and really go at them

Whilst I don't feel it my place to question the man on stuff like that I can't help but agree. If he was serious a lot of players would have been dropped for the Premier League games (the important ones) already.

Would like to see Ramires and Willian start this evening, they've both performed well every time they've been called upon so far this season which is something that can't be said about the likes of Ivanovic, Fabregas and Matic who are getting countless chances despite their poor form.

Hoping to see JT restored to side too, you can't underestimate how much having a strong leader on the pitch can help with performances. The best sides always contain strong personalities and leaders and right now I think too many players are able to go into hiding because of the lack of leadership.

That's exactly why I would throw Diego straight back into the team as well, even when he's not playing well his presence is felt, Remy by contrast, unless he scores he offers us nothing.

Would like to see something like:

Begovic

Dave - Zouma - Terry - Baba

Ramires - Matic

Pedro - Willian - Hazard

Costa

It seems clear to me that the experienced "untouchables" have lost some respect for Jose. Maybe picking on the female doctor has come home to roost!

Swapping to a younger team will change this, but it won't hide it for long. You can't motivate people by telling them to be motivated. This is born through respect. As much as the attitude seems to smell sour at present, I think this includes Jose!

Would much prefer he goes with a 433 in this one...

bergovic

dave jt zouma baba

Rambo mikel rlc

eden costa Willian

I assume you're putting Willian on the right and Eden on the left, right?

That is a good lineup by the way. Porto usually play with two attacking fullbacks and guys like Eden and Willian can exploit the space that they left.

However, I think Jose would most probably field this:

Begovic

Ivan - Zouma - Terry - Dave

Matic - Fabregas

Willian - Oscar - Hazard

Costa

We started the CL in a good way, let's keep it. All Jose has to do it is changes, I can't believe that Jose couldn't notice his biggest problems in the squad. Porto is a good team and maybe in a better form, but we're level above, and I won't buy here a lose, would be a big disappointment. A win here would raise our morale and will give our boys a good feeling, tough game but we have to win.

COME ON CHELS!!!
