I had no problem with Costa, first off he slotted in our first goal I know it was simple, still a goal and then helped set up the own goal, luck or not it went in.

Do people watch the defenders play against him because they are constantly grabbing and pulling him down when he's off the ball or trying to win it.

Had costa shoved Richards instead of what happened, do you really not think the media would be calling for another ban or taking shots at him? He takes a beating up there and gives it back the same so I've become used to it tbh. Don't get me wrong he can definitely go over the top but I thought he played well today. JMO honestly I'm just f**king estatic we won!

I thought Richards in particular gave more than he got and clearly the Villa players wanted to wind Costa up, he played with agression and often a smile on his face and I thought he handled himself quite well.

He did have a decent game, people are just too sensitive. He likes to wind players up, he didn't punch/elbow/kick etc anyone, I don't know what bola's issue is.

Costa was perfect today. Workrate was superb and he wound everyone up without biting back and was scoring. He was immense today.

I thought costa was actually on his best behavior. Kept a cool head and let his play do the talking. That was his best performance of the season and he actually looked fit

Willian was by far our best player in this game. I was impressed with how aggresive  he was and how well he read Villas passes, wich also gave us our first goal. Ramires and RLC also did a good job beeing aggresive and forcing mistakes, although Ramires was a bit clumsy and created alot of freekicks.

Baba was a big dissapointment though, we probably have to buy another right or left back in january if both Baba and Ivanovic don't improve alot. My second worry is how bad Fabregas is playing and how much Mourinho favours him. I'd like to see us play Matic, RLC and Ramires/Oscar in central midfield instead. That would give us enough physical presence with Matic and RLC, to not get bullied in central midfield and enough stamina/pace to control it with Ramires/Oscar in a 4-3-3.

Last but not least, Hazard needs to start performing. It annoyes me when he just gives up and expects freekicks, aloving the oposition to counter attack because of it. I also think he is way to lazy when we counterattack at the end of the game today, it's not enough just to pass it off to our left back, who has made alot of effort to give him an option, then just jog behind him and not return the favour. He does this alot, but today he had fresh legs and lots of room to run into.

Mourinho: "I left out Hazard because we are conceding lots of goals. We need to defend better."

Mourinho on Hazard: "I continue that way (him on bench), or he comes in our direction & he tries to replicate the work Willian & Pedro did."

I don't think Hazard needs to run all the way back all the time, but he needs to contribute alot more going forward, because atm he isn't doing either. Problem is that we also have Fabregas doing the same, with a more stable central midfield, then Hazard and Willian could concentrate more on attacking.

What a difference a win makes? The league table certainly looks far healthier than it did before kickoff. Failure to win today would have left us on the brink of the relegation zone. Fortunately Villa are on the kind of run that makes our recent form look almost respectable, and what's more never seriously looked like bringing their awful run to an end. Phew.

While I could make excuses for drawing at home to Swansea and away to Newcastle, and could make allowances for the Palace and Southampton defeats, anything less than three points today would have stretched whatever shreds of optimism I'd managed to cling on to, to the limit and beyond.

Ok it was only Villa, never mind how woeful Villa may be well this season, I honest to God can't remember being more relieved as when that second goal went in today.

Going back to the table. NIne games gone, and after our worst start for 37 years, we're still only two points behind Liverpool, only five points away from a top four spot, and for me at least, things don't seem anywhere near as bad as they did just a few hours ago.

Mourinho: "I left out Hazard because we are conceding lots of goals. We need to defend better."

Mourinho on Hazard: "I continue that way (him on bench), or he comes in our direction & he tries to replicate the work Willian & Pedro did."

We will see how long that works out - IMHO Eden is a Top Flight performer, but it seems he needs some motivation to produce at the level we all know he can perform at

sh*t, that direction bullsh*t again, is that the direction that mata failed to comply? players like them need to focus on attacking, not defending.. defend defend defend, all he can think of is just defending, that probably explain why we're so appalling going forward.. no gameplan for attacking play, just pass-run and hope  while on possession..

He's been singling out a couple of players now but he left out the most obivious one in ivan and cesc, yeah that's very nice for earning respect eh??

Zouma terry dave and baba in defence.

I hope baba playes, i knw he wasn't at his best but he needs more playing time.

Going with his theory about Hazard for one moment, can we now blame defenders when we don't score ?

It's as if Jose has labelled Fabregas the gem in the squad, the only player allowed to lack defensive ability, and he thinks we have not got room for two gems in the team.

Imo Jose really is barking up the wrong tree with this one, sure he wants to get Hazard fired up and back in form, but has he stopped to think that it maybe something else causing the problem, like a defensively inept midfielder who wears a magic hat ?

I can put up with bad performances, even defeats, but I cannot feel anything other than a bitter taste in my mouth when I hear Jose talking sh*t like that.

I thought Richards in particular gave more than he got and clearly the Villa players wanted to wind Costa up, he played with agression and often a smile on his face and I thought he handled himself quite well.

100%  From the first moments of the game, Richards was being as physical as he could with Costa, knocking him down at every chance.

The commentators are starting to really wind me up.  When the bloke gets a yellow for going two legs into Ramires from behind and not getting anywhere near the ball they say "Oh, not much in that challenge, Ramires has been dishing those out all night"....Uh, no.

And I swear to god an Aston Villa player could walk up to Costa, punch him in the face unprovoked and the commentators would reply "Oh, there goes Costa again trying to cause trouble!"

Holy sh*t

Mourinho is giving sh*t abt hazard defensive dities and he never anything abt iva or fabregas....hahaha thats just crazy.

I hope this motivates hazard to produce more in the coming games as we need him sooooo badly specially against west ham and liverpool

Not at all mate was just saying most of the clubs money comes from match-day and broadcasting rights so if you can't make match day because of location,  try and buy a subscription if within your means rather than a stream to help with FFP, not sure that was such an awful request for someone interested in the cubs future.

Maybe there are a lot of football fans who don't feel the need to further subsidize a billionaire or his multi-millionaire employees,  Im sorry, but its a entertainment industry that is heavily minted.  So while I pay for my subscriptions, Im not going to get upset at those who stream because they can not realistically afford the super inflated prices.

PS.  IRR > ROI  ;)

Really impressed with Willian. He has really stepped it up a notch this season. He looks menacing on the ball. Today he left players eating grass.

I thought Richards in particular gave more than he got and clearly the Villa players wanted to wind Costa up, he played with agression and often a smile on his face and I thought he handled himself quite well.

Now he just has to have that same attitude every game. Every game we play, the opposing Manager will look on him as a 'loose canon', and instruct his players to attempt to 'wind him up'.

With the publicity hes had so far, unfortunately i doubt he'll get much protection & support from Refs.

Diego's goal in the first half.

Like I said before, defenders have easy life under jose, they must love it playing for him because he will set up a system where they're being taken care off nicely.. if they get exposed, it's almost other players not enough cover..

Mourinho: "I left out Hazard because we are conceding lots of goals. We need to defend better."

Mourinho on Hazard: "I continue that way (him on bench), or he comes in our direction & he tries to replicate the work Willian & Pedro did."

So parallel with the way mata left...

Elaborate...simple economics, can't spend more than what you make, if you stream, you don't spend money, the club does not therefor make money off of watching the game, the clubs main source of income is people watching goes and people paying to do so, the only reason you have a couple of midgets agree with you is because you may have a vagina and that is all that is needed for some weak personality men to look past rational thought...

Wow.

I am just amazed how often people act like an authority when they are spouting rubbish and don't even know it,

Perhaps people agreed with the poster because you are clearly out of your depths, and that's probably true regarding the vagina too,

Simple economics is right, because you clearly know nothing about the reality of things which isnt very simple.  Sorry, but your intro level micro and macro courses aren't going to help here.

In the real world we have something called financing (commonly through equity or debt).  Its a very common thing to the point where almost any major company you have ever heard of has done it, and likely currently does.

PS.  How do you think Facebook and Google make money when we dont pay for their services/products?  Advertising you say?  Like the boards along the pitch at Stamford Bridge?  Now simple economics probably doesnt make it clear that someone paying for those spaces might take into account the number of illegal stream viewers who might also see those advertisements..... but surprise surprise, `simple economics just isnt a philosophy, theory or model used by successful business people.
