I am not defending Michael Emanalo but the facts are..........he is a smart cookie........highly intelligent, trained as a lawyer, played professional football including in a World Cup. ......but most importantly he is a close confident of Our Guvnor (Roman) .........he was introduced to him many years ago....by Avram Grant, when Emanalo played for Maccabi tel aviv managed by Grant.

Basically Emanalo reports directly to Roman.........

There is no doubt that part of Emanalo's remit is to recommend to Roman and to the CEO (Marina Gravanoski) new players to sign and also to sell.

Obviously massive mistakes were made during the past 12 - 18 months....crap players coming in and good players being allowed to leave .....and we all know the names of the players concerned.

However.......it was not all due to Emanalo, as imo ....Jose (the special one, who we will always love) was also involved in those massive mistakes and Jose realised his mistakes and then Jose exploded and threw his toys out of the Pram, by having a stupid public outburst against the doctor.

We now have to move on ......with our new manager ....Conte coming in. And give start afresh with a clean slate

If this club sign a player and the player ends up being sh*t or not giving playing time to show his worth, then people run here to give Emenalo the stick.

Chelsea football club have wasted a shed load of money during the past 18 months and we can't put the entire blame for that mistake at Emanelo's door ..............surely we have to look deeper into the whole club, there are many other people at the club,,,,,,The Scouts, The Cheif executive officer is Marina Gravanoskai

And oh I nearly forgot .......The Manager or Chief Coach whatever his title had at that time......I remember Jose, that's it , the man who we all Love LOL

Personally I think Jose completely Lost the plot......and i can imagine that someone in the club would say to Jose .... What do you think of so and so as a player ? And Jose would simply retort.......yeh.sign who want.....as he was sulking because the board FU**ed up the bidding and timing for John stones..........if Jose does manage elsewhere, he will make John stones his first target.

What aload of bollocks, your saying basically its because the guy is black that we dont want him around when im sure if given the option every supporter would jump at the chance to give didier his job on 10 yr contract, why not take the what everyone seems to say in regards to why they dont trust him at face value, the guy was a u13 girls coach in america before he came to us and was first thrust on carlo then moved upstairs, what did he do to warrant his job? generally speaking in life you start at the bottom and progress on merit.

 

Emenalo has gone from chief scout to assistant manager to director of football at a champions league club in 4 years off the back of no prior experience in the roles he got the job/s because grant and him got the ear of our owner and obviously tell him what he wants to hear just as frank arneson did before them and not doubt more will after them, THATS the crux of it.

Can you tell me the reason why he always take the blame when we sign a player and the player wasn't given a chance by the manager to impress or if the player turns out to be a very average player yet the manager (most times José) gets the credits when a player signed turns out to be top class?

I don't think that's accurate. For instance Jose seems to get a lot of the blame for selling players like De Bruyne when there's evidence he didn't want to, whereas Emenalo has been given the credit for signing him when he gets no mention from De Visser in doing so.

 

Honestly, I think Emenalo is representative of everything wrong with this club. He doesn't really deserve his position, he doesn't have any loyalty to the club itself only Roman and whilst Chelsea have gone through six managers in his time as Technical Director he has come out completely unscathed. 

 

That ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to things people despise in both the football and business worlds.

 

He does bear a lot of the brunt for the criticism Roman should get but Emenalo's crime isn't being black, it's the fact that he isn't a billionaire. I don't think it's anything personal, simply what he represents.

Yet somehow Emanalo is the enemy as he is solely responsible for not signing the players Jose wanted which all believe is Pogba and Stones. Quite frankly it's the most ridiculous reason to scapegoat someone as I have ever seen. There were no protests when Jose was winning until the moment he screws up.

Nothing to do with his hiring, his rise through the ranks, the Wilkins situation or the fact that under his tenure we've gone through 6 different head coaches and however many styles of play he's not actually been affected?

I can sense some underlying discontent for a Nigerian in a high position at Chelsea. Certain comments I've read have made me wonder. Not saying its unanimous but something doesn't feel right.

As I said certain figures at Chelsea can do no wrong no matter what they do and an Emanalo who is no shining star but not an enemy either can do no right in the eyes of some.
