So does this guy get credit for the Conte hiring or are people still thinking we could improve on him in some way?

Seeing as if you believe the press emanelo wanted pelligrini I think his position should very much be under scrutiny, I can think of only one reason why he would want pelligrini and that's because he would do as he is told and not rock the boat, as it's not because he has done a great job at city is it? Im hoping that conte gets his own dof in as part of the deal to take the job personally, leave emanelo in charge of the loan army and thats it if roman wants to keep him around, just dont let his sticky little fingers near either the first team or the youth teams, they are neither wanted nor needed, the guys a shyster imo.

The rumours about Walter Sabatini joining from Roma died down sadly. Considering he has signed half the players we seem to be interested in buying it's a real shame.

 

Had a good track record at Lazio and Palermo and was brilliant at Roma by most accounts. The players he brought through like Marquinhos, Nainggolan, Pastore, Lamela, Darmian, Kolarov, Liechsteiner, Benatia and Rudiger aren't bad considering where Italian football is nowadays.

Maybe but hasnt he said he is leaving roma at end of season? I know he said something along line of he has terrible english but im not sure that would be an issue as conte is italian so no language barrier there and he could use an interpreter whist he learnt english for any non italian speakers, on a side note does granovskiaia speak italian? her profile mentions she speaks a few european language other than russian and english.

Whether you like him, are ambivalent, or hate him, I think it has to be acknowledged that Emenalo actually did the Jose exit interview pretty well ... it is not an easy thing to do the hard stuff ... anyone can do the easy ones ... there isn't much explaining needed when things are going well or it's good news appointment or signing. I have to give him credit for sticking his arse in the firing line - he was always on a hiding to nothing with this one ...

 

The only thing you could criticise negatively in my book is the use of the word "individual" rather than Jose's name. Emenalo's choice of words and interview content would most probably have been discussed by the whole board and PR department before he went on camera.  Un-necessary for me ... insert "Jose" rather than "individual" and it changes the whole tone of the sentence ... adding some "warmth".

 

For some additional context, though, no-one is actually referred to by name in anything he said in that interview. Roman is "the Owner" for example ... maybe they were just trying to take some heat out of things and it just didn't work ? Maybe that was the legal advice ?

Yeah theres no way Emenalo wrote that Speech himself. It was a PR move that backfired, massively and he is taking much of the heat for it. But maybe that was the plan all along,

I don't think I've criticised his interview and I never really had an issue with the content of it. It's such a minor point I never quite understood certain people getting that upset about.

 

Anyway, apparently he was with Conte when he came to the training ground and according the the Standard his position isn't under review. The guy is Teflon and Roman clearly couldn't give two sh*ts about what the supporters think so we can only hope that Emenalo performs his job well and supports the coach.

I can't speak much on his work behind the scenes as I am not too clued up on his influence so won't unfairly judge his abilities.

People are critizising him because of his lack of previous qualifications and the fact that nobody knows for sure what he does at the club. He is literally the perfect scapegoat when anything goes wrong.

May I ask why? I doubt its as simple as above but ask yourself this what did emanelo do to get a job at chelsea? what did his cv boast to get him forced onto ancellottis bench and then moved upstairs into scouting then technical director? jobs for mates is the only logical explanation really, its not like he could of merited it on his previous job which is the normal way you progress in work life.
