Who the f**k is Emenalo

Mourinho refused to play KDB in the same manner as Mourinho refused to play Zouma (actually KDB got more play time).....   A year later, Zouma has 23 starts and 5 sub appearances  despite not being halfway through the season, and did so while breaking into the best CB pairing in the league if not Europe.

Zouma only had Terry and Cahill infront of him. KDB wasn't even getting on the bench and had Hazard,Mata,Willian,Schurrle and Oscar ahead of him.

Yep, and as mentioned KBD still got more minutes than Zouma did in the same time frame (their first August-Jan spells in the CFC first team) despite facing more competition for playing time. So doesnt that suggest that Mourinho perhaps had plans for KDB as he clearly had plans for Zouma?

I don't blame KDB for wanting to go,  I just question  the validity of the claims that Mourinho didnt rate KDB and forced him out intentionally.

De Bruyne said he wouldn't return to Chelsea whilst Jose was in charge. Suggesting a fallout perhaps?

The players who left Mata KDB and Lukaku all pretty much stated that it was one reason they left and wouldn't return until that reason was not there any more

First, Zouma def played more and against MUCH betyer competition and more important games. KdB was trotted out in the league cup and besides that he was either an unused sub or in the stands. Second, theres a huge difference between playing attacking mid and CB. If youre a centre half, you either play or youre on the bench. You dont take a CB of at 70 mins to give someone else some minutes unless everythings gone tits up. Attacking mids can rotate to a much larger degree, especially someone like Kevin who can play 3 positions equally well. Third, Zouma came as a very raw player from the french league that was universally known as someone who would take time to develop, someone who needed to learn a lot more about the tactical side of the game. KdB came back from a great season in Germany were he was one of the best young players in the league. Just like Mata, José didnt like him ad a player and when he had a chance to cash in he jumped on it. There was no great grand development plan for KdB that involved sitting in the stands and that was pretty evident drom the thibgs he said when he left

Yet again struggling to understand the dislike for Emanalo.

When we won the league and celebrated goals from mata and Hazard in years gone by no one complained

It wasn't emamalo who caused eva to file a lawsuit

It wasn't emanalo who told jose to give embarrassing interviews about ref bias

It wasn't emanalo who told jose to publicy criticise our players which heavily backfired

It wasn't emanalo who had us in 16th and lost the dressing room

It wasn't emanalo fault that we failed to get Stones and Pogba for a reasonable price.

He doesn't run the club, Roman does. With us sitting in 16th even the most ardent Jose fans were questioning whether he was capable of turning it around.

He didn't ask for Jose to fall out with our players and sell the likes of Cech (roman and Cech choice), Mata , KDB, Bertrand and Lukaku to our nearest rivals

No one is perfect and he may have failed to bring in Jose's main targets but that's not to say we didn't try. That's no excuse for Jose's antics which caused a dressing room rift where at least half a dozen players lost all form (including captain leader legend who is immune from criticism)

Jose was bookies favourite to get sacked. Sitting in 16th it really was a no brainer

Mourinho although sacked twice by Chelsea gets his professional positions on merit and his CV, lots of trophies in 4 different European leagues, he will work at a top club again

Emenalo got his job based purely on cronyism, if he were to leave CFC, I doubt he would ever get such a fantastic opportunity at a top club again, bit like the mug that introduced him to CFC

QED

Regardless of how he got his job, Emenalo had presided over the assembly of a pretty good squad for Mourinho's first season back. (Players in blue were signed after Jose was on board).

Cech, Schwarzer, Hilario, Blackman

Ivanovic, Azpilicueta, A.Cole, Bertrand

Terry, Cahill, Luiz, Kalas

Essien, Ramires, Mikel, Oscar, Lampard, Van Ginkel

Mata, De Bruyne, Moses, Willian, Schurrle

Torres, Lukaku, Ba, Eto'o

Plus some youth players like Baker and Ake.

Everyone will have their own opinion on how Mourinho subsequently managed his resources, whether the subsequent sales and purchases improved the squad, left it the same, or made it worse, and whether or not we are in a better, equal or worse state than when he arrived.

Personally I don't think Emanalo is at fault for any of Mournho's failings as a manager, so I can only agree with Konakai Blue's post above.

To be honest, I watched De Bruyne on Monday night against Arsenal, and I was left wondering exactly why we are so annoyed we let him go? Seems to have the technical ability, but is far too lightweight and easily out-muscled - by Arsenal of all teams - and was struggling to break down Arsenal's defence - kind of similar to players we kept hold of. Seemed to be some serious concentration issues as well - I would have loved to have seen José's reaction if he'd kicked the corner flag instead of the ball playing for us. City massively overpaid giving Wolfsburg £60m for him - I'd say he was worth £30million tops.

Lukaku has done well this season (especially against the lower teams in the league), however last season we looked entirely justified in getting rid, and if someone makes it clear they don;t want to fight for their place in the team what do you do?

With Schurrle and Mata it was sad to see them go, but neither have exactly set the world on fire since they left so I'd hardly say selling them was a disaster - didn't Mata initially get less game time at Man U than he did with us?

However, I would lay a massive amount of the blame for our current predicament firmly at Emenalo's door - before Jose came back our transfer strategy was a bit of a joke as we only ever seemed to sign attacking midfielders and bugger the rest of the team, at least with Jose's input we got Matic, Fabregas, Costa etc. Then this summer he decided what we had was good enough when everyone else strengthened - despite Jose's protestations we needed some fresh blood, and seeing as every name mentioned to replace Jose has said the squad needs refreshed, I'm starting to see who was correct over summer - and it wasn't the U12 Girl's coach.

Not saying José was blameless this season as he was far from it, but it wouldn't shock me if all the lashing out and bickering was because he was being undermined by a board member who didn't know his arse from his elbow in footballing terms. And if this is the case I can't help think we've backed the wrong "individual".

Regardless of how he got his job, Emenalo had presided over the assembly of a pretty good squad for Mourinho's first season back. (Players in blue were signed after Jose was on board).

Cech, Schwarzer, Hilario, Blackman

Ivanovic, Azpilicueta, A.Cole, Bertrand

Terry, Cahill, Luiz, Kalas

Essien, Ramires, Mikel, Oscar, Lampard, Van Ginkel

Mata, De Bruyne, Moses, Willian, Schurrle

Torres, Lukaku, Ba, Eto'o

In addition to those new signings in blue five were signings from Jose's first spell at the club and JT and Bertrand proceed Emenalo's time at the club.

Basically, I don't think he had much sway on the molding of the squad Jose inherited at all and within a year Jose built a title winning squad (again).

So basically Emenalo who had balls to give an interview after Jose sacking is getting every kind of sh*t for reasons unknown. Please stop it. Just stop.

So it's three games since the 'individual' has left and we're actually worse than we used to be. Well done, Chelsea. Well done.

worse? 5 points from 3 games is way better than Jose did.

Thought it was about time to resurrect this thread again, just so some of us could enjoy our favourite pastime of slagging him off and holding him responsible for ALL things bad at Chelsea whilst others try and defend him even though none of us actually know what he really does and why he even exists!!

So for the record, I remain firmly in the "f**k Off Emenalo" camp.

I feel better for that.

Me too.

If you look at what his role is and you look at how this club is structured, he's essentially in charge of football affairs. Who else could be? Roman?

His equivalent at Bayern would be Matthias Sammer and this is how he reached that role.

Playing career -

15 years, 75 caps for East Germany/Germany.

Wins 3 Bundlesliga and captains team to European Cup glory.

Wins European Championship with Germany and named best player.

Retires

2000 - Appointed head coach at Dortmund

2002 - Wins Bundesliga and reaches UEFA Cup Final

2004 - Appointed head coach at Stuttgart

2006 - Appointed Technical Director of German National Team, working with Loew and focussing on youth development (sound familiar?)

2012 - Appointed Sporting Director of Bayern

Before reaching the equivalent position at Bayern, Sammer had to win the Bundesliga and be an administrator for the national team who would go on to win the World Cup with a strong emphasis on his area - youth.

Now Michael Emenalo.

Playing career

15 years, 14 caps for Nigeria, journeyman career most notable for playing under Avram Grant at Maccabi Tel Aviv and featuring in the 1994 World Cup

Retires

2004 - Volunteer coach at Virgina Tech

2006 - Joins Tuscon Soccer Academy as director of player development, coaching Under-12s Girls Team

2007 - Joins Chelsea as opposition scout

2010 - Appointed Assistant Coach when Ray Wilkins is sacked although this changes quickly

2011 - Appointed technical director

Both men appointed in 2011/2012.

Six years earlier one is the Technical Director of the German National Football Team, the other is the director of the Tuscon Soccer Academy.

Emenalo appointed at Chelsea in 2011/12. Sammer appointed at Bayern in 2011/12. How did that season end again?

Sammer was appointed in July 2012. When I meant appointed in 2011/2012 I meant separate years. Sorry for not making that clearer and you making that post.
