February 1, 201610 yr I said this on the Terry thread, I just dont understand taking risks on players who CLEARLY are a risk, with whom the best we can expect if they succeed is to have a good player for 2-4 seasons. Remy - Rejected by Loserpool due to a failed medical. Shown glimpses of talent but mainly waits for Costa to get injured then visits the doctor. The unfulfilled promise of potential is what he holds. Falcao - Massive injury, dumped by ManUtd. Monaco don't even want this guy back. WHY? Ba - Solid back up, signed despite several failed medicals in his past @ 27 years old. Was never given a chance to cement his place. Pato - Massive injury problems, hasn't exactly pulled up trees at the dizzy heights of the Brazilian Serie A. Torres, never the same after his pre WC injury, persisted with him at the detriment of others for FAR too long. What about those who have potential and weren't given a chance. Sturridge, wanted chances, didnt get them, left, scored 29 league goals 1 season after leaving us. (we've only had one player match that since Tambling in the second division in 63!) Lukaku, looked good, not given promises of 1st team football, left, has proven he should have been given time after scoring 40 goals in 86 apps for Everton Bamford, not given a chance. will he get one. Traore, not seen for more that 10 mins in any chelsea game this season, 4 apps so far. Abraham, Solanke massive hauls in Jnr Football, gone on loan what are the chances of us seeing them We are willing to take a chance on crocks (I include Costa in this to a degree) but unwilling to even contemplate youth players failing. Strange.
February 1, 201610 yr Good points. I think the club thinks the grass is always greener... Didn't De Bryune say that if he had cost more, he would have got more opportunities?
February 2, 201610 yr Author So the ship has sailed and we forgot to load supplies!! Well we didn't forget!!! We are in for such a shock come the summer. No silverware. 1/2 the squad leaving or should be gone. No core group. If we get a good manager; MAYBE he can rebuild within two years, if we give him a chance and give him the check book! I HOPE we come up with the bright, upcoming starlet names to go after. Under 25 with promise. NO MORE has-been's.
February 2, 201610 yr ! I HOPE we come up with the bright, upcoming starlet names to go after. Under 25 with promise. NO MORE has-been's. So what you are saying is that you want the club to sign players like Courtois, Dave, Zouma, Hazard, Oscar, Kenedy, Traore, Miazga, Baba? I'm not sure you've thought this one through old chap.

The problem is no manager will get time under Roman! and no manager will get the big say on buys. (the club has bought good and bad - obviously the bad are very bad....but cant win em all) Whoever comes in will get given a squad and expected to win the league/champions league. This is not pessimistic but reality i am afraid to say! KTBFFH
February 3, 201610 yr Author So what you are saying is that you want the club to sign players like Courtois, Dave, Zouma, Hazard, Oscar, Kenedy, Traore, Miazga, Baba? I'm not sure you've thought this one through old chap. your quite right. however it will be nice to see Kenedy, Traore, Miazga, Baba playing. I'm not sold on Zouma. He good but not fast thinking enough, but he can get better.

Grass is always greener isn't? Those that aren't playing you want to play and the one that does play you're not convinced about.
February 3, 201610 yr If we're interested in any more former potential world-beaters with whom we were linked years ago before they disappeared, Robinho was apparently released by Guangzhou Evergrande during the winter transfer window.

February 5, 201610 yr Author Seen rvp in a Chelsea shirt lately? Nope... I guess in the end all the players we had lined up died on the vine as well. I think there was so much talk/press of bring ing another has-been (Alexandre Pato) they dropped the idea!! What about my other topic Manuel Pellegrini !!!! If you don't go out on a limb there would be no forums!!
February 5, 201610 yr kudos to pato for choosing us over going to china. with all these players, arguably still in their primes, going to china i think it says a lot about him that he chose to come to europe and ply his trade rather than take the easy way out for big money.
