First of all, I apologise for creating a new thread to talk about this. It's just that I think it's a little too early to create a Chelsea vs Spurs match thread. Anyway, moving on.

Looking at the Premier League table right now, I honestly think that Spurs stand a great chance of winning the title. They're in great form and Leicester are starting to look a little wobbly (not having Vardy for the next game or two is truly worrying). Maybe it's just me, but the thought of Spurs winning the bloody thing is really unbearable. I mean, at least Arsenal no longer have a chance of winning it (that would have been the worst case scenario for me), but Spurs winning it isn't that much better. Now, when it comes to Leicester, I like them. I desperately want them to win this thing (and not just because I slapped a huge bet on them to win the title just before they murdered City (great timing, eh?)). I like Ranieri. I have huge respect for the guy, and he truly deserves all this. Now, referring to the title of this thread...I think we will decide who wins the title. It's as simple as that for me. I just can't see Leicester securing the title before the final day, and I think we're in serious danger of getting slaughtered by Spurs (I can't believe I just typed that). On the other hand, though, I fear we'll show up in the game against Leicester and secure at least a draw. I can just see our ruddy players wanting to end on a high and deciding who wins the title. If we do that, well...it'll be a nightmare, really. It would just cap off our horrendous season. Destroying all chances of the fairy tale coming true.

Well, what are your thoughts on this? Do you think we stand a chance of somehow getting a draw against Spurs? Will we show up on the final day and wreck Leicester's party? How will our fans at the Bridge react to all this? Will they be urging Leicester to score, and booing if we do? Do you care at all? Lol.

This whole season is truly crazy.

Can't see us being a factor at all.

We will lose both games against Spurs and Leicester.

I'm just not sure about the Leicester game. I think by then the pressure will be getting to them and we'll be up for it. I honestly think that if we play our best like we did against Villa (granted, Villa are terrible), then we're capable of nicking a point off Leicester (I honestly can't believe I'm typing this). But, I can't see us stopping Spurs at all. They just look too good at the moment.

"We'll be up for it"... If we wait until the 38th game of the season to be up for it ill be even more annoyed than if we go the whole season without getting up for any games. Especially if we decide to put a performance in on the very day we could prevent Spuds winning the title!!

If Leicester have to come to us on the last day of the season needing to get something then I would suspect that they are already choking. Their season is built on momentum more than anything else in my opinion so if they're wobbling, anything could happen on that last game of the season.

Truth is, if they can't get the result against this Chelsea team when it counts then they don't deserve the title.

Spurs on the other hand are flying and they're a great team to watch. I'm really not comfortable with saying we lay down for Leicester so that Spurs can't win the title because I think that takes a pathetic season to the next level of utter small-team humiliation.

Four years ago we ruined their dreams by becoming the European Champions defeating Bayern Munich in their back garden. Are people seriously saying that we should now throw a game to do the same?

As someone else said, we might not be a good enough team to be a factor in anything.

Our shambles of a team, at present would struggle against any team in the division if the the other team have something to play for, we will lose both comfortably, the spurs game is about keeping the score down I'm afraid. If we come away with only conceding two then our lot will think job done, we fully deserve our 100k this week. First time in supporting the club, and that goes back 40 plus years and I actually dislike a lot of the players. Will never forgive certain players for that shambles of a game at Leicester before xmas. I made the effort to go there, got home at 4am then back up to work at 8am and to watch a team that didn't give a toss!

Exactly how I feel. In all my time supporting this club there's always been a core of players that I could identify with or whom I loved. Now it's John Terry and that's about it. I'm actually really starting to like Fabregas which is a bit of a surprise but beyond him, Dave and the young lads I really couldn't give a toss about this squad.

I can remember really painful losses, going back to 1994 in the Cup Final or even the Cup game against United at Villa Park, but I don't think I've ever been as embarrassed by a Chelsea team as this year's lot.

Fine by me.

Fine by me.

You're ok with Chelsea intentionally throwing a game?

I can respect many viewpoints and ultimately your opinion is your opinion so I'm not going to call you names or anything like that. I'll just say I disagree and leave it at that.

Yep. We've lost enough games this year, it doesn't hurt to lose one more... Basically, I'd be more upset with Spurs winning the title (as would most Chelsea fans, might I add).

Well, calling me names shouldn't even be coming to mind, really. Baffled why you even said that.

Anything but spurs winning.

Can see them sneaking it though.

The only thing that would be worse is spuds to win the league and the dippers win the europa league.

Cant stand either.

Come on leicester

Because I think the idea of throwing a match intentionally goes against everything that this club should be. I think the one thing we're tenuously holding on to this year is any sense of pride and I think laying down for an opponent is the point when we lose that completely.

I'd rather focus on beating Spurs, or at least getting a hard-fought point against them, than seeing this club plumb new depths and willingly lose a game and I know that for some the thought of Spurs winning the title goes beyond pride but for me, no. Sorry.

I really don't care if Spurs win the league. Certainly not to the point of actually considering throwing a game.

All I care about is us just carrying on playing youth and whatever happens will happen as far as I'm concerned.

Realistically, we won't decide who wins the league though, because we're sh*te and can't really decide to beat spurs and then go on and lose to Leicester. We'll lose to Spurs and Leicester, look at what City did to us and they're not in the best form, compared to those other two.

This talk of purposely losing is akin to match fixing and would be an abuse of power by us. The league title should go to the club that earn it not the club that we give it to.

Plus how would you feel being a player on a title team if you knew that you won because your opponent deliberately let you win, rather than knowing you won because you earned every point you got. I would personally feel cheated.

Ideal scenario would be Spurs/Leicester level on points on the final day, at the Bridge it's 3-3 deep into added time at the end of game... the game at St James' has finished 2-2... Newcastle needed to win to stay up  :laugh2:  ... as it stands Spurs will win the title on goal difference... 93 minutes on the clock 30 seconds to go... Leicester win a corner and JT scores a genuine OG... Leicester win 4-3 and they're champions...  :laugh2: JT changes into a Leicester kit and joins in with the celebrations  ::clap2::

I think unfortunately we will lose to spurs, and take points off leicester.  Worst case scenario for me, but unfortunately it looks like the most realistic outcome.

Let me think carefully. .....? Some of the players have been throwing games all season especially the first half so it won't look out of place.....Just put JM in charge and watch the players lay down and get rolled over.

As for my point of view i am hoping Leicester have already won it so it removes all arguments!

Leicester have:

Swansea (H) - Win

Man Utd (A) - Draw

Everton (H) - Win

Chelsea (A) - Draw

Total points 81

Mighty Spuds:

WBA (H) - Win

Chelsea (A) - Draw

Soton (H) - Win

Newcastle (A) - Win (depends if Newcastle need a win)

Total points 78

Look, I think we can all agree that we'd actually prefer to see Leicester win the title rather than Spurs. Correct? So, why should we be wanting Chelsea to win against Leicester? The match is meaningless to us but could mean all the world to Leicester and Ranieri. Personally, I think it's our players DUTY to let Leicester win the title. They've given us a miserable season up to now, the least they can give us is to let us enjoy the last day of the season by stopping Spurs from winning the title. I'm not talking about total humiliation here, a couple of own goals would suffice.

Actually, I don't think I have too much to worry about. Fabregas has already admitted that he doesn't want Spurs to win the title, so he obviously isn't going to be giving his all against Leicester. Would you condemn him for that? I applaud up for that.

Finally! Someone who thinks along the same lines as me. Lol.

It sorta goes against everything the game, in fact sport in general stands for. That's an old-fashioned view perhaps but the notion of throwing a game is utterly detestable to a few people.

But to bring up a point that might speak to people's self-interest, we'd almost certainly be charged by The FA with bringing the game into disrepute (and rightly so) and almost certainly be docked points next season at the very least. Truth is if The FA decided to dock us points this season then we could potentially be relegated.
