May 6, 201610 yr I'd also ban him for the Euro's. I don't care if the incident happened in the PL, the ban should span FOOTBALL, not the competition it happened in. Not for this sort of crime anyway, red cards for late tackles etc yeah I can understand but this is assault, not a football related suspension. I'd even go as far to say eye gouging is worse than biting, as dkw said it could blind someone.
May 6, 201610 yr Do you believe that's fair? I wouldn't say it's unfair, more unfortunate given the circumstances where for the most part we didn't do much wrong. Fines have always been incremental so it's not like the FA would be going out of their way to punish us more harshly in that regard.
May 6, 201610 yr A topsey turvey day out for me..Was leaving at 4 and started off at 4 45.....Nice drive from westcliff on sea on the a13 to thurrock then traffic probs....past that all was well till the tunnel...On exiting traffic horrors to chelsea...didnt help that they shut kings rd...45 mins driving in circles around the area to find a gd space somewhere off of north end rd....Haldine rd ......walked to fulham rd...touched the permanantly closed gate of the old station exit which i like to do to remind me of the 60s n 70s..Went and said hello to Big Bob as i normally would..He always greets me the same way....HELLO MICKEYBOY....waalked further to the Brittania gate....Couldnt get a ticket at my offerings.....Stood talking to a group of chaps when a group of a dozen gobby spuds passed....these fellows went into action and got behind the spuds with a carefree song followed by a we hate tottenham tune .OWNED...They wouldnt even look behind em..Justwent silent..I joined this little chelsea group soley to make sure no spuds were hurt..Went to the pensioner ( OLD BLACK BULL)...Rubbish in there..Watched the match in the pub outside the station which was packed with blues...Crap drive from parking spot to a13...got myself to bed and was satisfied id seen a night match with the old fashioned, as it should be,london derby feel..Weel done the team..well done chelsea fans (at least from what i saw and heard)...and well done the foxes
May 6, 201610 yr So the double standards continue...pochettino says their display shows spurs aren't a soft touch any more and should be seen as a positive thing...there is no hint of criticism for him talking like this, no outrage...their easy ride continues...meanwhile, we all know how different it would be if roles were reversed...i know I shouldn't be surprised, but tottenham's 'crimes' were so blatant and yet they're getting away with it
May 6, 201610 yr 6 is a let off, should have been double that. The damage it can do is massive, it could have been a career ending injury.
May 6, 201610 yr Given Lamela, walker, Dier, mason and Rose should also be suspended right now, Spurs got off very lightly
May 6, 201610 yr Author Given Lamela, walker, Dier, mason and Rose should also be suspended right now, Spurs got off very lightly don't forget about their gaffer who ran onto the pitch as well...I am just flabbergasted on how light spuds got away w/ their bush league tactics on Monday night
May 6, 201610 yr Only 6? That's disgusting. 10 games minimum. More I'd say. I'd much rather be bitten than get my eye gouged. People have become blind in one eye from that. Costa has a hot temper no doubt, but he showed remarkable restraint. I can see many usually calm players lashing out of they got eye gouged and had snot thrown at them in the same game.
May 6, 201610 yr I'm still pretty pissed off that there has been no mention of what Walker did. I can't believe he has been allowed to get away with that. If I were coming up with a list of ways to be a massive prick, snot throwing wouldn't even cross my mind. Walker clearly is more creative than me.
May 6, 201610 yr Naah. Six is the right amount considering who he couged and what it actually did. It was Costa and he survived.
May 6, 201610 yr And here's shay given downplaying eye gouging...incredible: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03tb5wf
May 6, 201610 yr Poch coming across a complete twat here...not Spurs at fault, but cesc for saying he wanted to beat Spurs before the game and stop them winning the Lge...didn't think it was possible but I love hazard scoring that goal even more now http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/spurs-boss-mauricio-pochettino-launches-7913175 Edited May 6, 201610 yr by The Brit
May 6, 201610 yr I was genuinely torn between which goal to vote goal of the season between Will and Eden - there was not much for me between the two but then I thought "Eden's stopped Spurs winning the league" and that tipped the balance.

May 7, 201610 yr Yeah Poch's sooking makes it even better. Anything happen to the Spurs fans who were throwing coins at Hazard when he scored?
May 7, 201610 yr Naah. Six is the right amount considering who he couged and what it actually did. It was Costa and he survived. Are you being sarcastic? Edited May 7, 201610 yr by dkw
May 7, 201610 yr Then what you wrote was stupid logic, incredibly stupid logic.Elaborate. Costa is a known thug in this league. It would be pretty petty to not say he is getting what he is ordering. He runs his mouth to players and is expecting a reaction. Tottenham was fighting for league title and they knew we can crush that dream. What dembele did was disgusting but 6 games is a hefty ban for a crime that resulted in... Nothing, really. He didn't hit Costa's eye nor did anything happen to him. Something could have happened of course.
May 7, 201610 yr So you want the FA to take into account who the player that was offended against was? How do they decide which players are allowed to be kicked, beaten, spat at etc? Is it on a sliding scale of angelism? The rule is the rule, there should be no mitigating circumstance depending on who it was done by, who it was done to, the importance of the game. As for it not harming Costa, that was more luck than judgement, an inch further and his fingers are right in his eyes and will cause a lot of damage. Say that was a 2 footed lunge at his knees, would the extent of the injury be taken into account then? Edited May 7, 201610 yr by dkw
May 7, 201610 yr Eric Dier must be laughing his tits off. 2 red card tackles in a game and he's completely escaped a ban.

Say that was a 2 footed lunge at his knees, would the extent of the injury be taken into account then? Sadly, judging by their actions and how Spurs have escaped pretty lightly, I think they have taken into account who it was against and said chelsea are fair game..,but then given Ashley Barnes was allowed to bend Matic's leg with a studs up challenge last year, they'd already made that perfectly clear
May 7, 201610 yr Eric Dier must be laughing his tits off. 2 red card tackles in a game and he's completely escaped a ban. Agreed, but there was no chance of a retrospective ban as Clattenburg saw both and let him off. He is a shocking ref who should be suspended for allowing such dangerous tackles to go unpunished. I think he took into account who was being fouled and thought they deserved it because of who they play for.
