England are mince, they haven't played anyone decent all tournament and have looked like mugs on a gamely basis.

That being said they should still win this, not even England can cock this one up.

Plan B? I'm not sure it's technical or tactical; it's effort and commitment - being faster to pass and to close down and tackling assertively, not backing off. This game reminds me of our group games in the last World Cup.

I'm way too old to expect much from an England team in a tournament but for some strange reason I had a slight feeling of optimism ahead of this game.  Well that was good while it lasted.

It's f**king Iceland. If this was a qualifier, England would win by 3 or 4, but as soon as the tournament starts, they crumble.

 

Also, why the f**k are we playing different to how were playing the friendlies and the qualifiers ? why change everything that got you to the tournament in the first place ? 

 

It's like as soon as any tournament starts, everything changes. The style of football changes, the formation changes, the players roles change and the team selection changes. Why not just stick to the settled side that got us here in the first place ?

Could have done with Carroll for Iceland's goal, would have done a better job than Rooney

The only ones that Rose to the occasion during the first half were the Icelandics. Jeez, England might as well field a side of pensioners who can't move without Walkers or Kanes. At least those pensioners would play with Hart. There's a real mental Cahill to Clyne the second half. If they can't do it, they risk getting pelted by Stones.
