July 1, 201610 yr It was very tongue in cheek, mate. I'm still not 100% convinced that Tibo is as great as many think he is. It is the main problem with the Belgium team...have the talent but their attitude stinks...
July 1, 201610 yr I give massive credit to Gareth Bale for shunning England (he was eligible through a grandparent) in order to represent Wales. It takes real patriotism to do that when it looked like he would never play in a major tournament. Thrilled for him. I wonder if Ryan Shawcross is kicking himself for not representing Wales, where he grew up. He was born in England and his parents are English, however, so maybe it was a patriotic thing.
July 1, 201610 yr It is the main problem with the Belgium team...have the talent but their attitude stinks... Exactly, Brit. ON paper, cliches etc.
July 1, 201610 yr As if anyone needed any more proof, Courtois is a prick. Vince Van Genechten ?@VVGenechten 38m38 minutes ago Journalist: "Do #BEL need another coach?" Courtois: "He has to make his own decision. I gave him my opinion in the locker room" Wilmots is obviously stealing a living, but sticking the boot into your own manager straight after getting knocked out... Id be raging too. Playing MF, leaving our dembelle and not hooking a lazy lump like Lukaku. Wilmots is a joke of a manager
July 1, 201610 yr Id be raging too. Playing MF, leaving our dembelle and not hooking a lazy lump like Lukaku. Wilmots is a joke of a manager Courtois didn't exactly cover himself in glory, so this is not the time for those comments. You don't see Joe Hart blaming Hodgson. Courtois has a history of acting petulantly, so rightly or wrongly, his comments will be interpreted in that context.
July 1, 201610 yr Thanks all. We deserved that. Unbelievably I am on holiday in Munich, which is clearly one of the best places on earth to watch football. the weather is exactly the same as it was on 19.05.12 as well. Shame I can't stay out here for the semi. Will be watching Germany v Italy tomorrow, quite possibly in the same bar I went to for the CL final. PS so pleased for Fellaini...
July 1, 201610 yr Perfect result for chelsea...all our players are out of Euro 2016 now and after a break, should still play a part in preseason...important as conte needs as much time as possible to work with his players But they're out with their confidence shattered. I don't see how that can be a good thing.
July 1, 201610 yr Tonight's game made me feel two things 1) We should have put a sell on clause in KDB's contract 2) I miss Petr Cech We made £10m when City signed KdB.
July 1, 201610 yr Courtois didn't exactly cover himself in glory, so this is not the time for those comments. You don't see Joe Hart blaming Hodgson. Courtois has a history of acting petulantly, so rightly or wrongly, his comments will be interpreted in that context. He didn't do anything wrong in the game and had some superb saves actually looking back on it. I don't agree with him saying it straight after but it's clear the team under Wilmots had no direction or plan B. After the World Cup he really should have been binned.
July 1, 201610 yr Twatter rumours flying about courtois and wilmots had a fist fight in the locker room

I don't agree with him saying it straight after but it's clear the team under Wilmots had no direction or plan B. After the World Cup he really should have been binned. Even if they had a beaver for a manager, this Belgian squad should have been able to beat Wales. They simply didn't play with enough passion and team commitment. Agree that Wilmots should probably be replaced, but he's not as inept as he's being portrayed. I don't know what choices they have if they want a Belgian manager. Twatter rumours flying about courtois and wilmots had a fist fight in the locker room I'd be shocked if that's true. A shouting match yes, but not a fist fight.
July 1, 201610 yr I think he's a buffoon personally (Wilmots). He doesn't have a tactical bone in his body, he puts 11 players on the park and hopes their individual skill will be enough. As someone said earlier (FC I think) you put a Conte, Mourinho or the like in charge of them and watch them dominate, that's how good they can be but when you have a guy in charge who is inept it's always going to go wrong. They should be able to attract a decent replacement, it's a squad that can still go far in the next tournament but they need someone with some authority and football know how to lead them IMO

As much as anything a new manager would be needed to sort out their pitiful mentality. When passes go astray, the first thought isn't to bust a gut and get it back, it's throw your arms up in the air and blame your teammate. A really unlikable group of players. July 1, 201610 yr I'm absolutely delighted for Wales. Euro 2016 has been fantastic so far, because it's been the tournament where hard work, passion and commitment to the cause have really shone out over the prima donna players earning ridiculous money. Northern Ireland, Ireland, Iceland and Wales all put in great displays of commitment and character to do well in the tournament. I think it's great for football, I'd love to see Wales win the whole thing now, and Bale vs Ronaldo will be interesting, but Bale plays for his teammates, Ronaldo plays for himself, and I hope teamwork triumphs over individual talent again.

July 2, 201610 yr ... but Bale plays for his teammates, Ronaldo plays for himself, and I hope teamwork triumphs over individual talent again. Very good point.
July 2, 201610 yr Wonder how much Wales will miss Ramsey in the Semi? Sanches is having a great tournament, and they could have done with Ramsey in there against him.
July 2, 201610 yr Wonder how much Wales will miss Ramsey in the Semi? Sanches is having a great tournament, and they could have done with Ramsey in there against him. A lot. He's been immense for them. That could very well make the difference in the outcome. They'll also be without Ben Davies. I thought both of those yellows yesterday were excessive. Who is suspended for Portugal?

I thought both of those yellows yesterday were excessive. Who is suspended for Portugal? I think William Carvalho is suspended for Portugal. Ramsey's was a slam dunk yellow, he knew it too. Clearly extended his arm to block the path of the ball.
July 2, 201610 yr I think William Carvalho is suspended for Portugal. Ramsey's was a slam dunk yellow, he knew it too. Clearly extended his arm to block the path of the ball. Oh I didn't know that he extended his arm. I wasn't paying careful attention then. Thanks for the clarification.
July 2, 201610 yr It was a yellow for Ramsay all day long. Wales fully deserved their win against Belgium (Wilmots surely for the chop now) however they did get very lucky with two massive decisions. Ben Davis should have walked and Belgium should have had a penalty. It would be great if they dumped out Portugal too.
