Following Our Nearest & Dearest Rivals, 2016/2017

Featured Replies

Title is in our hands but by no means done. Spurs are our most likely challenger now seeing how city have 4 matches left against the top 6.

Spurs/City would kill to be where we are now. We can lose against City, Utd and Everton and still be 1pt ahead while they have to be 100% at the same time.

Its starting to look like none can catch us now, hope we manage to keep a comfortable gap until the City game nonetheless.

They need to start doing retrospective bans for this sort of thing. You can't change the result but you can punish players.

It ruins football.  It's blatant cheating and showing disrespect for the game.

It's Barcelona though and it will get swept under the rug because they are Uefa's flagship club. It stinks but we all know that after what happened to us.

How anyone can enjoy watching Barcelona I will never know.

As someone said earlier, I'll be happy when it's mathematically impossible to catch us. The match last night was won with three goals after the 87th minute. That and a dollop of cheating.

Well done Stoke, we love you!

Mascherano has admitted he fouled di Maria for a penalty in 85th minute (but it wasn't given)...if you remember he was clean through about to score but mascheranno slid in and fouled him from behind and all of a sudden di Maria shanked his shot wide...

thought it looked very dodgy at the time, but no replay was shown of the incident as game went on or during BT's wonderful impartial post match analysis (sarcasm alert)...as woeful as PSG played, they were cheated by a bent ref...welcome to the club psg

in spite of the clear dive by suarez you have to (or at least I have to) say that was an amazing comeback.

psg were pathetic though. absolutely useless. such a shame, I've seen them play so well in the champions league a number of times, and the football they are capable of is of the quality of a side that should challenge to win the competition.

mentally though, they have never been there. every time they find a new way to throw it away.

PSG & Wenger sound like the perfect match!!

Didn't see the game, just kept up[dated with the score and couldn't believe the final score. As G4 says, despite any cheating that may have gone on, that is still some feat and shame on PSG for completely bottling it.

Just hope Barca don't go on to win it - would even prefer City lifting the trophy.

Not sure how PSG will ever recover from this. This was supposed to be their entry onto the big stage and join the elite but instead they've suffered their biggest humiliation in the clubs history and all their work over the last 3-4 yrs has been wiped out. Incredible.

I'll also be surprised if Emery keeps his job.

You wouldn't be saying that if it was us on the recieving end of what went on last night Nibs.

Di Maria was hacked down from behind in the box, as clear a penalty as you will ever see. And the diving by Suarez and Neymar ultimately decided the game.

Only cheating won last night, nothing else.

Just look at the minute, I just can't believe.

And yet Barcelona's win is being celebrated all over the media today, while clips of BT's pundits jumping around like bafoons is seen as great banter...we all know that if that was costa doing the same thing against current media darlings Sp*rs or liverpool, no - anyone in fact - then the lynchmob would be out in full force right now

What a blatant cheating sc*mbags Barsa are. All match diving and complaining to the ref and linesmen payed the dividend. Every time I see that cheating bar steward diving for the penalty in the clip above I choke. And that is in Europe, in La Liga is the same but against less important teams. The only other team they can't cheat is Real Madrid and they still complain all the time about Real Madrid having the refs in their pockets, the c*nts.

On the other hand, last night Stoke gave us a bit of a push towards the title. Great result for us! I now worry about Spurs, they are in peak and don't see them losing many points until the end of the season. We need to be constant and keep getting points from mid-low table teams, those are the matches we need to win no matter what if we want to be champions.

See, people like me who missed the game will see/hear all the headlines and think - hat's off to Barca. But since seeing that clip above and hearing the general consensus it seems like they were up to their old tricks and helped once again by officials. Glad I didn't watch it - want to keep the blood-pressure down!

Although I'm a big admirer of Messi, I will be rooting for anyone but Barca to win it this year.

Messi did fcuk all last night, it was neymar, inept psg defending and sh*te officials that won it for barca last night...messi looks old to me...lost a yard and didn't seem to have the same old skill to dribble past a man

Suarez dived but it looked so convincing, Marquinhos made a forward motion with his thigh and bumped him or looked like he did. In full speed it probably looked like a foul to the ref.

The way Sp*rs have been playing, most of their games look winnable so we will have to ensure we drop as few points as possible. Burnley & Swansea away and Arsenal & Utd at home are the only games I can see them maybe not getting all 3 points and even then, chances are they will.

The referee that is on the line could help the main referee in the first penalty, then why didn't he get involved in the second penalty?

My friends that support Barcelona are telling me that since the beginning of the season is referee are against them. Crying about Las Palmas game.

I will never support this club!

I just think there was potential for both to be called and not called, correctly and incorrectly. These pens were nothing on our match in 2009.

But yeah the match felt dodgy and reminiscent of 2009, even saw the Pique handball technique, it just didn't hit his hand.

It's absolutely f**king embarrassing to English football that this has happened three f**king times.

Get out of the CL Arsenal, and for god's sake stay out.

The b-umlicking by the English media of Barcelona this morning has been nothing short of disgusting, You would think Barcelona were some underdog that provided a cinderella story. These same journo's or rats however you want to describe them all revel in United/City/Chelsea/Arsenal losing in Europe, Constantly down play English teams achievements i.e. focusing on the teams who are struggling as opposed to the one's doing well yet when it comes to Barcelona and Real, They've only got one thing on their mind,  No wonder why the national team never wins anything.

Talking of not winning anything, good result for you last night, eh Kinkladze?
