July 27, 20169 yr "Well, it seems that La Repubblica are reporting that Chelsea have made the move we’ve all been expecting them to make, with an offer of €45m (£37.8m) ending up on Napoli’s transfer desk (or whichever desk they end up on). However, it seems Aurelio De Laurentiis is going to be his normal stubborn self as the Italian newspaper say he’s built a wall around the defender and wants him to renew. The player’s agent recently revealed all parties were some way off an agreement, with the player wanting to leave. Napoli are said to be studying alternatives in case one of the two Premier League clubs manage to scale Napoli’s wall, with Torino’s Maksimovic a €20m option".
July 27, 20169 yr BREAKING: Sky Italy: @ChelseaFC will make £38m bid for @sscnapoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly
July 27, 20169 yr Boom!!! I have not seen him play but the intent here is night and day from last season, it started a bit slow but we have been efficient and divisive, it seems every other season we have one of these and then a snoozy one
July 27, 20169 yr The question is whether or not they will accept the bid, they seem to be quite firm on not selling players
July 27, 20169 yr Will probably require a bit more money but it's will be easier to get across the line the stones because we don't have the rivalry , Martinez is not involved and generally less bad blood involved
July 27, 20169 yr Will be interesting to see what happens now they have sold Higuain. Be tough for a club to sell two of their best players in one summer. I'm still skeptical as to whether it'll happen. But he is probably the best option who could move so it'll be worth it.
July 28, 20169 yr Agreed Spiller, just can't see Napoli selling 2 big names within a few weeks, whatever the money. The fans will go insane.

July 28, 20169 yr Agreed Spiller, just can't see Napoli selling 2 big names within a few weeks, whatever the money. The fans will go insane. You say that but Napoli, like Atletico Madrid have a knack of picking up South American players for a relatively low fee and selling them on a few seasons later for 5 or 10 times what they paid. They'll probably replace Higuain with a relatively unknown player or a promising youngster who'll we'll try to sign in a few years time.
July 28, 20169 yr I think it can be done if the amount offered is very enticing as shown with some departures from Dortmund. I agree with this. Whether they are two of your best players or not, how often do you get around 115m for two of your players? Sure, they're losing two players, but they can easily replace both of them and get another (maybe two) players with that money. Edited July 28, 20169 yr by Michael
July 28, 20169 yr Napoli aint mugs, they won't be selling this boy so soon after losing their star striker. They don't need the money as they just banked near £80 million. They are worse than Spuds in negotiations.

Imagine if Hazard has a great season and Real Madrid come sniffing for him and he goes there (inevitably) for a massive fee. A week later someone else comes in for i dont know, Kante or Azpi offering huge money. The club would do all they could to keep them, even if its crazy money offered. The fans would be in uproar and just what sort of message would selling two of your players send out, no matter how good your scouting system is ? I do hope we have a plan b.
July 28, 20169 yr If Koulibaly really wants to go he will. It's always down to the player in the end.

No team ever has plans to sell their two best players but if two massive offers came in you have to consider them. If, for example, Madrid and Barca came in for Azpi and Hazard and we would get 165m for the pair of them you are saying you would not consider it?

A slight difference mate, if Hazard and Cesar (agents also) have clearly stated they want to leave then yea crazy monies would get them as with the case of Koulibaly.
July 28, 20169 yr If Koulibaly really wants to go he will. It's always down to the player in the end.didn't see this before I replied your previous post. Spot on.
July 28, 20169 yr If Koulibaly really wants to go he will. It's always down to the player in the end. Doesn't always work, sometimes clubs hold firm A few examples: Everton with Stones to us Liverpool with Suarez to Arsenal United with Heinze to Liverpool It's not always the player who gets what he wants.

July 28, 20169 yr Stones had to wait but now he is going and he was a bit of a pussy in the process. When Morris wanted to go he went, when Ronaldo wanted to go he went.
