August 9, 20169 yr last thing we need is another invisible player Right on cue, our Papy replacement.
August 9, 20169 yr I assume that's a pathetic attempt at a joke but Kone was one of the best defenders in the league after arriving in January. If Koulibaly can't be gotten SOON, i'd snap him up before Everton get him.
August 9, 20169 yr Kone? Sunderland? Surely Elemano can do better than that. Naaah, thats about average for him.
August 10, 20169 yr I assume that's a pathetic attempt at a joke but Kone was one of the best defenders in the league after arriving in January. If Koulibaly can't be gotten SOON, i'd snap him up before Everton get him. I am reading up about him and form what I understand he was a major reason that Sunderland did not get relegated. Considering that Everton are willing to pay 18 million for him, We too could bid similar and be favored over Everton. Also, the fact that we sold Papy to them means we already have a good business channel with them. Also, we could throw in Miazga or Chalobah as a loan or with a buy back clause in the deal and get this done. I think this is a good bet on a defender who has premier league experience, is of prime age and has great physical attributes. Plus we get to frustrate Everton. I for one will not be complaining if Chelsea do buy him.
August 10, 20169 yr It's pretty scary we are linked with player like Kone, next thing you know we will be signing John Evans from WBA It's really poor planning and execution that we haven't got the defenders signed before the season kick off. Sure the transfer window will go on for another few weeks, but comes 1/9 it's more likely we will sign another Hector and Papy instead of genuine defenders
August 10, 20169 yr Kone? Sunderland? Surely Elemano can do better than that.Emenalo cant be behind this. He knows Christensen and Omeruo are better than Kone if given the chance.

I for one will not be complaining if Chelsea do buy him. We lack serious ambition when signing defensive players. The last time we showed ambition was when we bought G Cahill and D Luiz. Aside from F Luis we have been signing average players in recent times hoping they will all come good just like Zouma and Azpilicueta. I think this is one of the reasons we have been struggling in the Champions League since the last time we won it.
August 10, 20169 yr we have christensen and zouma, as well as timori in the ranks. I think we're okay for the future, but can we make top four still without a top defender coming in is the question? if we can, then bring andreas back next year and we're pretty much set.
August 10, 20169 yr We're going to be left behind if we're not careful. Already are getting left behind. Look at the squads of both the manchester clubs.
August 10, 20169 yr Most times we fans (despite having the club's interest at heart) come across as spoilt.
August 10, 20169 yr I don't think it's spoilt at all. We have watched our side falter for over 12 months at the back and if we want to get back into the CL or even Europe we need that to be addressed. it's not spoilt wanting us to sort the one position we majorly struggled in last season...it's a valid request.
August 10, 20169 yr Most times we fans (despite having the club's interest at heart) come across as spoilt. Because we want to enjoy football, and the club to do well and compete for prizes, we're spoilt ?
August 10, 20169 yr Because we want to enjoy football, and the club to do well and compete for prizes, we're spoilt ?Not at all, criticizing the club for signings not made (yet), making comparisons with other clubs in terms of organisation and players brought in, while most of us sit on a couch and watch from a TV set( I certainly do) and hardly know what goes on in the boardroom. A bit much IMO. Edited August 10, 20169 yr by summer is coming
August 10, 20169 yr The way I see it, we still have £50/60m to spend on players. Just splash the cash for Koulibaly and then get a fullback dirt cheap (They are usually the cheapest position to fill). There is no need to budget when you only need 2 players.
August 10, 20169 yr I am normally very positive when it comes to our transfer dealings over the all the previous seasons but I am just not confident anymore we are getting left behind especially when it comes to the backline Terry Cahill cant be our centre back paring to start the season with Iva at right back we will get skinned mercilessly. Even with Happy back we still need another CB.
August 10, 20169 yr His agent has said an announcement on his future will be made within the next three days... Apparently.
August 10, 20169 yr His agent has said an announcement on his future will be made within the next three days... Apparently.Signing a new contract with Napoli. Put your house on it.
August 10, 20169 yr This link with Koulibaly is going my tits, apparently we had several bids rejected for him and clearly the player would accept the move. Napoli wants to milk more money as they know we are desperate to strengthen our back line.
August 10, 20169 yr Fair play to Napoli, I'd be taking the same stance. In a league where guys are moving for £50 odd million then why wouldn't you try to fleece us?
