I like him, good player. Anyone that's comparing him to Baba should probably watch him play a bit. They aren't remotely similar.

Gutted we sold Felipe Luis tbh. Don't think we could have had a better back up LB.

I do like Luis but I believe that when he went back to Atletico he admitted that his body was at Chelsea but his mind was at Atletico the whole time he was here. A shame but he just didn't settle.

Baba was crap defensively.

The pace of the Serie A compared to the Premier League makes me believe he will be burned by lots of fast tricky wingers similarly to Ivanovic.

Also, Daniel Alves is not the offensive threat he once was. Having him in his pocket says little about ability.

Alonso has played in the PL before and done well as a young player still learning the game, he is now coming into his prime, as for Alves he is still a very dangerous player going forward, you will see that this season.

Loved this player when at Sunderland.

Jose given him a chance would have change that easily.

Hopefully Alonso has his mind on the move, as he has been caught once and very nearly caught in possession  along with playing the Chievo forward onside in a first half when Florentina haven't been under much pressure.

Did you watch the match yourself? Personally I trust my own eyes above any website that may or may not have had a reporter there. The first half he was ok but did make three mistakes, I lost my stream around 56 mins and couldnt be bothered to find another tbh as the match was like watching paint dry. He may have gone onto have a good match afterwards as by the time I lost my stream Fiorentina had three players injured. As I say i rarely trust stats as they decieve and never trust the bullsh*tters on twitter. My own view is if the manager deems him good enough for us that will do.

Started as wing back but reverted to left of three with the injuries.

Shame this is not a Loan deal as it was rumored to test the waters before spending 25 mil on him but of course were likely the only team in Europe to Loan so many over 10 mil players without giving a sh*t about money 

I guess this one should be a done deal by tomorrow, glaring at the reports.

have to be honest, I'm not that enthused about the prospect of us signing this guy. I think ideally we'd sign a first choice quality defender or failing that someone young with the potential to be that. I think this signing feels like it would add depth (which I accept we need, and if he's versatile all the better) but not necessarily improve our first 11. and at the price quoted it seems like we're not getting a great deal.
