Needed a defensive signing, got one. Not the player I wanted or expected specially given the rumored price. I mean why not pay 10 mil more for rodriguez. If we combine Baba and Alonso's transfer fee, we could have bought Alaba from Munich (45mil pounds, wholly f**k).

Another less than exciting business from us.

This could be why we're looking to sign him instead of Rodriguez, perhaps the thinking is that if we can't sign a CB Conte will just play with 3 at the back if needs must until next January/next summer (next year's market may not be as "crazy", players may start to become reluctant about signing long term contracts, etc).

Its just opinions, They probably think Cuadrado was class yet we don't.

Ive not really commented on this or the possible brozovic deal because i have seen either player more than once or or twice. 

Quite like the look of both players on paper though, I think alonso would be a 2 in 1 sort of signing if he can also provide emergency cover at centre back. 

Brozovic looks neat and tidy, and could be a nice squad addition, although it is an area i dont think we needed a squad player.

I think when the window finishes, we will have done enough to have a squad that can finish for top 3, and a couple more quality signings next summer, and we will be one of strongest sides in europe. 

We have left it all very late, thankfully it didnt stop us taking maximum points.

-20million for alonso? where do we sign?

-20million and they (fiorentina board) still think about it?

-they're going to spend 20million for azpilicueta's backup? while we're at it, can we ask for azpilicueta + 20million? they might accept lol

-indeed the russian mobster don't know football, but 20 million for alonso? got to be false news

what do you expect? the fees being banded about would be a club record fee for them, of course they are excited, one of their fans even think they can sign 8 players for 28m, to them thats a huge amount of money

it's not about the fee, it's the fact that they don't rate him, even with 3 days to go and little time to find replacement they're fine with it

If he's not real top quality, what is the point of buying him when we just deemed Baba who is probably about the same level surplus to requirements? We'll just do the same with him next summer.

In this market if you want quality you have to spend 40m+, you can't expect to win the league buying players of the Cuadrado/Baba quality

Just find out how much Wolfsburg wants for RR and pay up...I know his buy out clause ended 1st July but let's not waste time on mediocre LB like Alonso...besides that name always reminds me of the other bin dipper one...

well thats usually how it works, when a player is on the verge of leaving a club their fans suddenly think the player is crap anyway, you can go and check on twitter when it was announced he signed a new contract with Fiorentina, and read through the replies of all the Fiorentina fans so happy that he signed a new contract with them.

Really? I always thought that Azpi was regarded as solid at Marseille, albeit not the player he would later become. 

Watch out Manny is getting the stats out already. That was Coles last season at Chelsea and was he even a regular.
