antonio conte does it better

Featured Replies

in the past few days there has been some rumours emitting that Antonio conte feels homesick and may be leaving to join inter milan in the summer is this any cause for concern or shall it just be viewed and discarded lightly

In my limited knowledge of italian football, inter and juve hate each others guts, and conte is very much juve so would be a big blindside if he joined inter. Simeone the more likely to go to inter.

yeah my heart sank when I read this news online but then again it was reperted by the daily starr and the express so you can not always believe what you see. also you have a very valid point there so hopefully the conte era will live well on.

This is just crazy rumour to sell an unfound story. However, if we really want to make sense of it, what's the value of Conte going back to Italy? He's already managed the best team in Italy, won the league twice(?), managed the national team. What could he possible achieve going to Inter? I know Inter got Investors money from China, but which top end clubs haven't got money?

I do worry about a possible Juventus return should Allegri be the next Arsenal manager.

He left Juventus for two reasons. One being he couldn't turn down the national job, that itch has been scratched.

The other was that he felt they'd reached a glass ceiling as far as competing in the champions league. I think the fee and purchase of Higuain indicates a shift in gears with regard to their willingness to eat from the top table as opposed to seemingly having been happy to be the big dog at the second table during Conte's reign.

I worry that he may be tempted to see a potential title winning season as job done if he were to be offered the chance to return "home".

It's only a week since Conte was rumoured to be signing a new contract so both can't be right.

The only way Conte will leave Chelsea is if he get's the sack. If he's homesick then he is hiding it well.

very true mate

of course I've nothing to base this on other than prejudice and hope but everything about Chelsea right now looks like we are about to launch a challenge for the Champions League next season - I'd be confident that's where Abramovich wants to go and Conte looks like just the man to do that for us

This is a fantastic comment! I wonder if the same people are behind the Bonucci to Chelsea rumours, which would make a lot of sense with Conte leaving.

yeah well with conte and our new formation it looks like anything is possible for us

With the right acquisitions I could see us reaching the semi's next year, not winning it though. Conte's major "flaw" at Juve was his performances in the CL. Different team and different proposition now though. We need a bit of luck & a cool head this summer.

Good luck with that. Is he not aware of how demanding this team's board is? One bad season, and a manager is sent packing.

Did you mean Inter or Chelsea?
