For me Belotti at £83m represents better value than Rom at £70m. The lad has quality. Indeed, let's allow someone else to stump up the dosh for Rom, cash in our sell-on clause, and use that money to offset Belotti's fee. That'd make me happy if it worked out but would anyone bar Chelsea pay £70m for Rom? I'll believe it when I see it. Edited June 13, 20179 yr by OhForAGreavsie

As long as two years ago, Rob Beasley stated unequivocally that a sell-on had been included in the contract drawn up for Rom's transfer to Everton. There have been reports contradicting that in recent days but I think Beasley can only have made that statement if he had been briefed. I don't see that he would have made this up then gone into print with it. Also some of the contradicting stories claim that no clause exists because Jose decided not to include one. That does not ring true to me because I don't see how that would ever have been Jose's decision to make. It would be quite normal for Everton to offer a higher fee with no sell-on, but a lower one with one included. I don't see how it could have come about that Chelsea accepted the higher fee but that someone then leaked to Beasley that a clause was in place. I don't suppose we'll ever know since clubs regard these types of things as deep secrets but my own belief is that a clause exists. Edited June 13, 20179 yr by OhForAGreavsie
June 13, 20179 yr If memory serves me right Beasley was on the only one to say there was one in place...personally I don't think there is...Lukaku's agent doesn't strike me as the type to keep something like that quiet...
June 13, 20179 yr Is this the same Beasley who claimed José desperately wanted to keep KdB all along after he returned to England and City? Yeah I dont see why his word should count for much

Yeah I dont see why his word should count for much Jose has said himself that he told the board not to sell KDB. That was easier said than done however. Not only was Jose not selecting Kevin, he had also fallen out with him. Given the situation, and irrespective of Jose's recommendation, I think the board made the only decision they could in letting Kevin go. Short of sacking Jose that is. Short of sacking Jose that is.It has become a bit of a joke among fans about how KDB always goes on about having talked to Jose only once while at Chelsea. Jose definitely didn't want to keep him and if he said so, that's a lie.

June 17, 20179 yr Author Didn't KDB and Courtois fall out? Thought that was instrumental behind him leaving. Not really. It was a footballing decision. Forget about those tabloid dramas.

The comment to which mine was a response had questioned that credibility by citing Beasley's report about Jose's desire to keep Kev. The poster implied the the story was untrue and therefore Beasley's credibility was questionable. Well, whether Jose lied or not, he did say it, and so the report was certainly credible. I think Beasley is a useful source on Chelsea.

But whether that's his fabricated reporting or he's actually reporting what Jose told him, imo it does not reflect the reality of the situation.

There is no if to be fair. I heard Jose say it myself, albeit several months after it had been reported. I believed it but it was a hollow truth because his actions gave the club no choice but to sell KDB. Edited June 19, 20179 yr by OhForAGreavsie

July 6, 20179 yr Hilarious. Straight after the Lukaku to United stuff is revealed, the media come out with their next story involving us. Oh well, i guess if they keep guessing, they will get one right eventually
July 6, 20179 yr Must confess I have never seen the man kick or head a ball. Am totally in the dark here.

July 6, 20179 yr Belotti is a good player but 83m is crazy money saying that i think 75m for Rom is ridiculous. I just think transfer fee wise its going to be silly season for a couple years till the bubble bursts
July 6, 20179 yr Never seen him play, but I'd be very wary he would end up like gilardino, or immobile, and for the price we would have to pay, you would either want some one that has proven themselves in the prem or the champions league.
July 6, 20179 yr What I like most about his goals is that he rarely takes more than 2 touches to score, how his markers seem to lose him quite a lot and how he never takes his eye off the ball when the ball is in the air when some players just swing and hope or some closes their eyes when the ball comes towards them
