So did Drogba, so did Falcao, so did Costa. Furthermore is Andrea was actually a one season wonder Torino wouldn't be holding out for the release clause, they will look to cash in around i would guess £40-50m while his stocks higher than it will ever be again, ie what Leicester tried to do with Arsenal re Vardy.

Vardy was almost 30 years old and transfer fees weren't this inflated last summer. Belotti is 24 in a market where quality players cost nothing less than 50m. We're not signing him for anything less than 70m.
July 8, 20179 yr Belotti looks like he'd fit in with our style of play more than Morata ever would, plus if he is so good why did he never become the main striker at Juventus & Real Madrid.

This again, the guy is 24 now. In those clubs he was too young and when he did get a shot, he made the most of it. Where in the world do you even get the idea that 21-23yr olds lead the line for Juve and Real? To do that he'd have to replace strikers who are more experienced and Benzema. If the guy breaks out and displaces Benzema, then no club in the world will ever get him. Mbappe plays in a 2 and Dybala plays right forward or just behind Higuain before people begin quoting those names.
July 8, 20179 yr Anyone else prefer Belotti over Morata?I do guy looks like a bully defender's will hate to play against him

If he can keep up the same level in the Premier League, he would be the ideal replacement for Costa.
July 8, 20179 yr Yeah I'm praying we get him over Morata. Conte is Italian himself so he will have followed Serie A closely last season, he'll know what Belotti is all about. Fingers crossed he's telling the board to get their finger out of their arses and wrap up the deal.
July 8, 20179 yr Belotti have been my first choice for a long time, both a superb poacher and target man. I've seen him countless times use his strength to hold off defenders, turn around them and use his pace to leave them for dead. He would be perfect for our direct counterattacking style, but also very good inside the box, if we are facing 11 defenders. His workrate, aggression and hunger is also alot better then Morata, wich makes me alot more confident of a successful transition to PL. I wouldn't think twice about paying that 87mil release clause, if the other choice is Morata for 70mil+.
July 8, 20179 yr I'm in the minority here but I just excitedly watched his YouTube clips and I noticed something .. he looks so slow when sprinting much slower than Costa and Costa isn't fast, I know speed isn't everything but he reminds me of an old fashioned type number 9 .. strong, scores headers and easy chances, determined but I don't see anything special to warrant 70m+ where as I do with Morata.

Watch from 4:30 and onwards No problem leaving defenders for dead while running with the ball and uses his strenght to turn them. No way is he slower then Costa.

July 8, 20179 yr If we got him I'd be delighted beyond belief. I don't trust our board to land him though

July 8, 20179 yr I've never seen the guy play. To those that have seen him, does he have that moment of magic in his locker that the really top players have? He looks to be hard working, aggressive, clinical, intelligent, good touch. But from the you tube clips I've seen, I haven't seen him produce any real moments of magic. This isn't a negative to why we shouldn't sign him, just generally curious, as I've seen a couple of comparisons to Suarez, but other than endeavour, I don't see it personally.
July 8, 20179 yr Also just to add. Does any know whether we would be able to activate the release clause, or would it be like Spain where tiring could dig there heels in and make us pay tax on top of it?

Suarez didn't have that magic in him early on either. It takes a bit more time for some players to get it. But he's getting more and more consistent so that will come. 19 minutes ago, big blue said: Also just to add. To my knowledge, that doesn't exist in Italy.

He's scored all sorts of goals, some spectacular and others tap ins. He's a far more complete footballer than say Lukaku and for not being the tallest he's a monster in the air. His heading is exceptional and reminds me of Henrik Larrson of how he gets up so high. Moments of magic like goals from nowhere? Then yes but you will struggle to see that from clips as you don't get a feel of how the actual game is going. He's the real deal and if we did get him I'd be delighted.
July 8, 20179 yr Considering how much our new home kit looks like the Italy shirt I bet he'd feel right at home!
July 8, 20179 yr cheers for feedback @Chelsbear @Barrettinator Pretty excited now tbh, although I don't want to get my hopes up since so far, we havent been strongly linked with him. Hopefully it's something we see more of in the next couple of weeks.

The guy is a decent player but Bellotti is more suited to our play style as I mentioned in my previous comment.
