May 23, 20179 yr Moses was excellent this season both defensively and offensively except for his crossing and shooting. He has had hamstring problems in seasons past. Chelsea did a great job this season preventing too many soft tissue injuries but with more games it will be tougher next season. Alonso was a revelation. Quite a few naysayers when he first arrived but save for the odd defensive misjudgment he's been a total succcess. An outlet for courtois, free kick specialist, pacy enough down the left and intelligent with the ball. Maybe a bit less dynamic than moses and less inclined to cut in. Azpi is far better in the back 3 than wb. Moses has pace is happy to cut infield or stay wide and offers a great outlet for the fast break. We really don't have any natural alternatives to either moses or Alonso. So I think we need one upgrade and one backup. Who's the best choice? The juve lb looks good, one of the Monaco boys?
May 23, 20179 yr I think both have earned the right to start as our leading wing-backs next season. However we need to sign comparative players in both positions. Neither has any competition for backup and this can lead to complacency. As well as that we have 25% more games next season and can't expect these two to play 55-60 matches. I'm sure Conte will take a look at Baba Rahman in pre season, he might feel he can do a similar job that he did with Moses. I can't really remember too much about Rahman, he was always going better going forward so maybe a wing-back role may suit him more? On the right we are lacking, Azpi really suits that RCB role and for me we need more than him at RWB. If he hadn't have just signed a new deal I'd have said look at Michail Antonio as a homegrown, youngish option and certainly someone Conte could do a similar job on. He has all the physical attributes just needs tactical training.
May 23, 20179 yr i don't know why we're not linked with florenzi, i thought he was excellent during the euros, still fairly young as well
May 23, 20179 yr Unlikely but Kyle Walker is clearly leaving Tottenham and for me he's the best wingback in the league on form for me so i hope we test Tottenham with a bid for him.

Tottenham don't do business with us or should I say Levy. Under no circumstances will any of their players move here if the club can have a say

No chance we are getting Alex Sandro either, Juve will want to hold onto him. I'd be going for Danilo from Madrid, he's been rotting on the bench behind Carvajal most of the season and he's way too good for that. On the left side we just need a backup to Alonso, Alex Telles from Porto would be a good shout

I'd love Aurier, absolutely unreal player. As you say though, he comes with attitude. Then again, so did Costa and he didn't turn out half bad!
May 23, 20179 yr Aurier is a great shout, and we've also been linked with Conti from Atlanta who also seems fantastic! Not to mention he's already played in the wingback role and has been one of Atlanta's top scorers this season, so he'd definitely be worth a shout

May 23, 20179 yr Preferably Dani Alves + David Alaba But more realistically, Lichtsteiner + Kieran Tierney

May 23, 20179 yr Upgrade / Second option for Moses : -Felipe Anderson : 9 assists and 4 goals in Serie A this year. He has played several games as DMR/MR, but mainly FWR for Lazio this year. What I like about him is that he does alot of defensive work, twice as many tackles as Moses per game. He also has almost three times as many key passes and has created 3 times as many chances compared to Moses. Dribbles twice as much per game, but he also gets dispossesed more. Anderson might lack some of the strength of Moses, but he has more speed, agility, vision, technical ability and he can put a cross into the box without hitting a defender 90% of the time. - Semedo - Sidibe - Aurier - R.Pereira Upgrade / Second option for Alonso : - Sandro (Juventus won't sell) - Ghoulam (1 year left on his contract, dosen't want to sign new) - Mendy Lots of options, my choices would be F.Anderson + Mendy or Ghoulam. May 23, 20179 yr Rudiger would be the ideal RWB for us, I really wanted him last season but he picked up a very bad injury, he has looked good since recovering and obviously his size is a big plus and the fact he can play CB as well. He ticks all the boxes for me. Edited May 23, 20179 yr by pacquiao
May 23, 20179 yr Ricardo Rodriguez and Danilo for me. Dream would be Alaba and Aurier but highly unlikely.

And has looked very good playing there, he can play LB as well, Ivanovic was also a CB and turned into one of the best RB's in PL history, Rudiger with his versatility would be an excellent signing. He is good on the ball, good in the air and has the power and pace to be a great wing back for us, especially against the top teams, he would make us very very solid at the back Edited May 24, 20179 yr by pacquiao
May 24, 20179 yr As for LWB Alaba, A.Sandro and Mendy are obviously the dream signings, all three would be hard to sign and would be very expensive but you never know.

I just think we'd be better off going for someone who's more specialised in the role, like Danilo/ Walker/ Florenzi types rather than a converted centre back An Ivanovic had been playing Right Back for Moscow for quite a while before we signed him Edited May 24, 20179 yr by RMCM

May 24, 20179 yr The way Alonso has been this season and the way italian football is, I think we should definitely consider a wing back from Serie A. Conti seems like a good shout from Atlanta, he's the 2nd highest scorer for them this season from w WB position, so it'll definitely be an upgrade on Moses in the going forward department, and I assume he'll be better defensively too
