Jerome Boateng

Featured Replies

VVD's asking price is too high, so we're looking at other options with Boateng being a front runner. Bayern also interested in looking at buying Willian for 43m as a replacement to Ribery and Robben.. Maybe that could help sweeten the deal?

My god, if we sign Boateng it would be incredible, he is top 5 CB's on the planet right now, possibly even top 3! Though whether Bayern would even want to sell him is another question...

Now this is a signing I would be incredibly happy with, as you say he is one of the to defenders in football and would be a fantastic signing.

First Alaba and now Boateng.  Bayern Munich would be insane to sell one of the best centre-halves in the world.  There are Rumours and there's pure fantasy.  This Boateng story is certainly woven from the latter.

It's not really fantasy though is it, this transfer is actually realistic, not saying it's going to happen but it's not impossible. Bayern have signed Sule and he looks the real deal, Sule and Hummels looks like it could be a great CB partnership, And then factor in Boateng's injury problems he has had this season Bayern may well be willing to cash in on him.

Good points but still won't happen due to his stature and there are no end-of-contract situations plus he's playing at a superior club.

This would be unbelievable hard to see their motivation for selling though, in a Chelsea fantasists world they want Willian and they have sule so could happen, realistically they can draw a better replacement for robben than Willian they already got costa who we should have signed and the second point they are not strapped for cash. Why sell a world class settled CB, unless something we don't know is happening I highly doubt this but would love if it does....roumours probably as authentic as the picture, close enough

could see bayern asking for christensen in return if this was the case. when was the last time bayern let go of one of their best players though? it doesn't generally happen, and i am 95% certain daily mail and the sun are talking sh*t.

I'm not so sure i want him here. He has been picking up a lot of injuries and only played 13 league games this season, 19 the season before. It would be a risk and Bayern will want a lot of money for him.

His injury record is like something you would see from an Arsenal player.

Alaba's without a doubt would never ever happen(rumour thread's for impossible dreams should be locked in my opinion), but hasn't Boateng lost his place? We got Cesc and Pedro from Barca under similar circumstances. I don't think it will happen, but if it's true he lost his place, it is definitely worth at least enquiring about.

+1

His injury record may be the reason why they're looking to get rid. Christensen (or Mere) + VVD for me.

How old is he now? With his recent injury record it does sound like a big risk as the fee would not be small. Bayern only sell top players when they force the move or when they see the player is not that big an asset anymore.

Can we please stop citing the sun and dailymail.  In case you haven't worked it out, they generate stories using the below algorithm.

Club A's Player 1 is in the sights of Club B as Player 2 wants out of Club B.

Boateng has been out for a good chunk of the Bundesliga season due to injuries.  If Bayern Munich wants to sell him due to the lingering effects resulting from his injury, then I wouldn't want that problem to be passed to us.

kroos?

With wenger signing a contract, I can see Alexis leaving and joining Bayern, which would be the end of the Willian rumors.

Aubameyang seems PSG bound already.

Antoine looks MU bound and Lacazette looks ATM bound

Costa does not look like he is leaving, atleast not for "big money", (f**k the chinese FA).

All in All, some teams (namely those who under-performed this season, City, Utd, PSG) are moving swiftly to do their business and appease their fans.

I hope the board (unlike the fans), does not press the panic button and simply gets what we essentially want (a upgraded RWB - CONTI, a marquee CM - Radja/Verratti, a competition for Costa - Lukaku). Would still deem it as a good window.

i believe that was to do with pay. from what i understood, players who come from bayern's youth system like lahm, kroos, muller etc, get increases in pay the longer they're at the club, but kroos wanted more money, and also i think at the time he didn't feel like he was necessary for pep's plans so he left for real madrid who were offering more money and obviously it's real madrid! i would say they have a better player in thiago alcantara anyway, but kroos is probably the best name they've let go. unless boateng wants more money i don't see the incentive to leave bayern for the premier league. he could stay and win a lot more in germany.
