What I saw was us defending for the bulk of the game, what match were you watching ?, I am of course delighted we got an unexpected (on my part) win

So for you "defending" equals "Lucky". Thats not an opinion of someone who has been watching football for years, more like those spurs and arsenal fans who dig deep into stats and those asenine attacking football arguments rather than goals.

Anyways lets look at the facts,

1. Morata should have scored on the 5th minute

2. Morata should have scored well Willian put him through but he tried to shift the ball to his right foot.

3. Willian hit the post (as did Kane).

4. Spurs equalised with a "LUCKY" own goal.

So please do tell me, how "defending" for the bulk of the game makes us "Lucky" or "Battered". I dont remember any clear cut Spurs chances. I am sure you could tell us since you watched the game.

What you saw was a masterclass in defending and attacking on the break.  Almost Mourinho-esque in its simplicity - Allow the Spuds to run about with the ball as much as they like, they weren't going to do anything with it.  Seems to me that for someone who must be almost a pensioner, who has been watching football and Chelsea for very nearly 50 years, you don't appear to have very much understanding of the word "tactics".

LOL, bit of a tragic board this isnt it when a counter opinion gets met with such comments, I know what I saw during the game, unlike some, I don't fool myself, I'm Chelsea through and through and always will be, but unlike some, I am also realtistic

There is realism based on many years of dashed expectations, and there is annoyance based on being freshly pressed plastic that floated in with the various trophies we have won over the last few years. This board is hardly a bundle of toughened realism at the best of times but I must say your opinions on several points are either those of your guide dog or a severe wind up.

ah Mourinhio, the one that was stabbed in the back by players a lot of you lot still adore . I understand Chelsea tactics, what I do not understand  is how anyone cannot say we werent battered at the end of the 1st half and start  of the 2nd half. We defended well, we had too, Spurs should have been down to 10 men, as for Morata, a total joke and waste of money

No wind up intended, I thought this board was for ALL opinions, clearly it looks like I was wrong in that assumption

I love it when new forum members come in all guns blazing, a full service history, "I was there when Ossie won the cup", strong opinions and self-righteous indignation when their obvious lack of knowledge is pointed out, even though they keep on giving more and more examples of that lack.  You've already gone from "we was totally battered" to "battered at the end of the 1st half and start  of the 2nd half."

You're going to last a long long time, and rapidly become one of the most respected forum members.  Welcome aboard, matey.  We must be about the same age - I'm going to enjoy discussing all our history with you.  You know, all that stuff that google doesn't know, because it wasn't there, man!

TBH, it could just be that you've read a lot of what a lot of fans on here say in many other ways on a regular basis. I hardly expect joy after we have a poor showing, but total surrender and the hanging and quartering of every paid staff member of the club is often the norm.................. And since I just noticed it, Moratta and the syntax of your entire post leading up to him. You are definitely a plastic and you definitely haven't supported anything since 1969. I'd even go so far as to say you weren't yet born in 1996! :)

WRONG! try again, Believe me, I am Chelsea through and through, but that don't make me afraid to comment and offer personal  opinions on what i see, I thought this board as for all opinions ?!

At the risk of having everyone and their dog turn on me too lol.....

I think we were extremely lucky to have the win against Tottenham too. They were pretty all over us and created more chances. On another day they could have easily won comfortably...

But, our performance in holding on the way we did was pretty heroic and I'm delighted we managed to pull this out of the fire (so to speak)....

I'm ready to be pelted in abuse now [emoji14]
