And they call us plastic... The atmosphere for most of the day was terrible...a lot is being made about their record at Wembley and they should be worried...whether we like it or not, our results at the lane have been rubbish for a while now and it was a tough place to go.. but yesterday felt more like an exhibition game...I've felt more intimidated watching an episode of neighbours
August 21, 20178 yr This is what football all about, players giving everything they got on the pitch, instead of bunch of men in suits negotiating Million dollar deals. We meant business from the kick off, all the players and the manager. Conte was spot on with his tactics, knowingly we are likely to be struggle with possession, Luiz the extra man provided the protection we much needed, and his ability to take possession gave us the opportunities to win. Despite all their possession, Spurs never created enough to win the game, would have been a comfortable 1:0 had the needless own goal not occurred. Alonso is an exceptional player, he must be wondering why all the fans want an upgrade over him.

Suddenly the players, manager and fans are all happy and on the same side. Get the feeling this win will be a turning point just like last season's defeat to Arsenal was in really pushing us on. Get in Its always good to beat the Spuds. Vile Club, racist Deluded fans. I'm always amazed as Spurs fans lack of football knowledge. It's alright to have 65% possession but mean nowt if you do nothing with it. I thought we where comfortable all game, they barely stretched us. Harry to Gooner did little and I hardly noticed Diving Dele. As the Spuds with win nothing again you'd expect both of them to leave next summer as well as Poch,Spurs decline is beginning

Give them games against teams far less suited to shutting them out defensively and they'll win more often than not, may not have the same fortress three-point-lane thing they'd developed recently but the stadium being the main issue is a bit of a red herring imo. If they embrace the narrative it will become a self-fulfilling millstone a la West Ham's home games last season. More likely they batter Burnley (who are a demonstrably poor football team, conceding against 8 outfield players for goodness sake...) and get on with it. Edited August 21, 20178 yr by Charles Ryder
August 21, 20178 yr Funny what a big win can do for the mood of everyone in the club from the players to the fans. We all love beating those c**ts. UTC.

August 21, 20178 yr Look at the Sky player ratings, Christensen and Luiz get a 6, Eriksen a 7, what is that all about?

A little frustrated that their loss has been attributed more to their "Wembley hoodoo" than how well we played.

I'm wondering if that is now the set up we will play against the big five -with 3 physical midfielders.

That says it all really , before the game CFC where in turmoil so after that performance surely the media would have realising what a great performance we put in. Just shows how clueless the media can be. f**k em all.

The worst thing about unfounded/biased player ratings like this means people/fans who are unable to think for themselves will take the ratings as Gospel and write-off youngsters based on them. I seriously cannot see how Christensen would be rated the same as both Trippier and Davies who were largely ineffective for Spuds!

Jim White wouldn't shut up about even when more knowledgeable people in the game would try to correct him on it. And since the win it's all down to Spud's Wembley "hoodoo".
August 21, 20178 yr great win and a very good performance with the players available, but what a player dembele is ,lets forget about 40 million for drinkwater go for him He will be the best partnership Kante can ever get. He is such a brilliant player. But just as most people say here, Spurs won't sell him to us.

August 21, 20178 yr MOTD was a joke they were only describing how the better performing spuds could have opened us up better, didn't even show the goals ffs clowns, and I'm well put off gullit he never goes to bat for us, let's jeans talk his spuds praising piss for the whole segment and didn't contest it. Seems they had planned on praising spurs win lose or draw and were so reluctant to say we did a good job and answered all the questions. The c**ts didn't even score, all this praise based on a well delivered free kick ffs
