This only look like a lack of ambition on the side of the Chelsea board. Instead of signing more players to improve the dept of the squad, we only hear an read about speculations that have lingered for too long. There shouldn't be delay in making new signings as the signings need to blend with the current squad

The reality of the situation is the transfer window is a joke! (Price of players) so Chelsea pulling another 3-4 players actual quality players without spending millions isn't gonna happen. Especially leaving it this late when everyone knows we are desperate we are gonna get hit with joke prices. We aren't signing Sandro so stop trying! start weighing up options and look properly. We need home grown, I would like the Ox but need more. If Arsenal don't sell then STOP! SELLING TO RIVALS! Why do it when they don't sell to us. Raid Southampton if you have to and bring Bertrand back. Bring Zouma back would rather him then Cahill. But we all know what will happen... 3 players no one knows will come in, we will lose a couple more games, then Conté will get sacked because the board the blame him instead of showing faith and giving him the support and respect he has earned! And fire whoever sells players without putting buy back clauses into the transfers! We could of got Lukaku back for £40 mil easy if we did and De Bruyne. Don't panic just support the blue way of life. Come on Chelsea!

Looking at the Swansea v United game today, I noticed that Herrera was on the bench. This, the same player who was supposed to be taking over the captaincy when Rooney left, was voted Player of the Year last season, was courted by Barcelona in July with a 60 million pound offer, has one year on his contract to run but it was reported that Mourinho wanted to tie him down to a new lucrative contract.......then Mourinho signed Matic. Now Herrera is a bit part player with even Fellaini coming on before him. Call me a conspiracy theorist but have we made a deal with United/ Mourinho in that they get Matic now, while we get Herrera before the transfer deadline? I say this because the Drinkwater transfer talk seems to have hit a brick wall.

Very doubtful, would be a novel idea but we aren't that smart we just offload players even to rivals, even when we have no cover because marina gets a thrill out of showing daddy Roman how much cash she made, brilliant sales woman not so great at concluding acquisitions.

It's nice to see that we aren't just spending money on players that are just mid table quality, but at the same time we've won a lot with those types of players. Bertrand was in the champions league final as well as Mikel, Kalou and so many others we would class as average. But we are not likely to get

i wish we had included martial in the matic deal...

was possible for sure as jose was desperate for matic and as martial isnt his first choice..

martial wud have been good esp now when haz and pedro are out..

I totally agree with you whether it's a conspiracy theory or not but it's the fact

United wouldn't have allowed it. He cost them a lot of money, they know he is a very good player and they know he would have strengthened a rival. Unlike us, they won't take that risk.

I just thought it was strange that he's gone from being the flavour or the month to a non entity in double quick time. And no sign, as yet, of any dissent from Herrera. The fact that the board, quite willingly, let Matic go to one of our biggest rivals, seems weird. I didn't expect any reciprocation from Arse'oles with Cech because that seemed like more of a goodwill gesture for services rendered. We most certainly don't know what's going on behind the scenes, and nor should we, until the deals are finalised. There's bundles of money involved so cards are kept very close to one's chest. However much we try to speculate, normally at the prompting of some useless back page reporter or a snippet on the web, you can guarantee that there will be surprises in store up the the last minute of the deadline. I just hope one of those is Herrera because he would be ideal alongside Kante.

Better pray those surprises aren't the likes of Djilobdoji and Hector. Reciprocity doesn't exist in Football - it's a business after alll and the Chelsea board knows it better than most other clubs.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the players we have bought so far, I don't agree with loaning the likes of Zouma and Baker out but I can get behind it for first team football. But what I can't get behind is selling players to premier league teams when they won't sell to us. Mata to united, Cech to Arsenal, Lukaku to Everton, Sturridge to Liverpool, Bertrand to Southampton and now Matic to United. We've sold a lot to others but when we go knocking for players like Stones, Lukaku, Bertrand, Rooney, Oxlade-Chamberlane and Van Dijk we get told straight up there's no chance they're selling to a rival ..... now tell me is that good business ?? 

I forgot Ake to Bournemouth as well as Begovic and Chalobah to Watford. (Not as big of names but still quality players)

Of that lot I can see only 1 coming and that's the worst of the lot Drinkwater for £40m...no thanks...let's get PSG on the blower and see what's going in the sales...

I saw that too but Wenger doesn't want to sell Ox, no one wants us to pay £40 for bloody Drinkwater and Southampton said they aren't selling. But honestly all but Drinkwater I would be ok with those purchases but it's 11 days left.... look how long it took us to buy Bakayoko I don't see 5 signings in 11 days
