We have seen this before, Fellani came on as super sub and score a goal, manager thought why not starting him and give him a start, got away with it one or 2 games, then inevitably he proves he's not good enough and lose you a game. If Belgium serious about beating France, they would have gone with  better ball players than Fellani. It didn't help when he couldn't mark his man in the game deciding corner. France was not Japan, they got plenty of heights.

Correct, but that's not the issue, Icecoolguy22.

Belgium should have played just like France. Just defence and wait. For that one single moment. No problem if it's anti football and against all odds. We beat England, everyone happy,  and probably England will play the final. That's the difference. This Belgian generation is too friendly. Belgium needs balls and guts.

Mbappé has made his appologies today. But the kid will play the final, my God!

(It would have been something else if Alderweireld had scoored, of course.)

Odd to see Belgian players whinging about Frances style when all Belgium did after their goal was resort to Stoke tactics of humping it into the box towards a big lump.

Ha, ha.

Start to focus on the England game, dkw.

Forget the Belgians.

It doesn't matter. We, certainly I know your point of view.

Unlucky KRC-Fan - I was rooting for Belgium last night. Would much rather beat you lot in the final than beat France!

Feel gutted for Hazard -he gave everything but other big-name players let him down. I've enjoyed giving some stick to guy at work today who never tires of telling me how much better a player KDB is than Hazard. Strangely quiet today. And as for Lukaku? Have always been undecided about him and last night put me back in the "thank f**k we let him go" camp. Lets hope he plays like that for Utd next season!!

Feeling your pain @Krc-fan, once again the same old faces go missing and poor old Eden has to try and do it all. I don’t get why Batshuayi isn’t brought on earlier instead of Carrasco, the one thing he’s good at is sticking the ball in the back of the net and it pushed Eden centrally where he didn’t effect the game as much.

I’m happy N’Golo is in the final though.

I didn't like what has been reported either though liked what Captain Hazard is quoted as saying,

'I was proud to play with this team.'

What's not to like about that?

Lukaku is one of the strangest players i have ever seen. He does everything right against the average teams, acts like the big man when he scores, but every time he comes up against the big teams, he sh*ts himself and hides. Last night was typical Lukaku against tough opposition, he was always a yard behind the defender. He was behind the defender every time a ball was played into a dangerous area. The one time the defender get's it slightly wrong and presents a chance for Lukaku, he bottled it and let the ball go out for a goal kick instead of throwing his head towards the ball.

Something that occurred to  me about De Bruyne last night was how much he appeared to be doing what Bakayoko and Torres before him have been accused of doing for us.

Hiding in plain sight.  Positioning himself in just the wrong place to allow a team-mate to make a good pass, whilst appearing to be making himself available, standing back from play but in the wrong place, walking rather than running, being just behind an opponent rather than to the side.

or Hazard with the first half shot that I think Varane just got his head to.

I don't know what Belgium could have done last night. France made just one chance in open play that Tibo saved with his foot, but after the goal Belgium were not able to get any space. I thought De Bruyne was disappointing. Misplaced passes, no driving runs at the French defence. Mertens did well when he came on - he produced some lovely crosses into the box from the right hand side.

Any way, if England do progress tonight they will find France a very tough opponent in the final. The French seem to have a little bit of everything in that team.

France will be incredibly tough to beat if England get to the final. England have been very reliant on set pieces during this world cup and France are the team that seem capable of handling that threat. That midfield of Kante and Pogba is the biggest hurdle though. Those two versus Henderson......there is only one winner there. Dele Alli or Lingard will have to miss out the final if we get there because i cannot imagine Henderson handling those two on his own, Dier will have to come in. Even then it will still be a tough ask. If England get to the final, i just hope France have an off game and the England players play the game of their lives.

Precsisely. Kante has been quietly outstanding - he's a destroyer. Sadly I think the consolation on this forum could be that we've a couple of World Cup winners at Chelsea, even if they are French!

the same thing he did against Pool in CL. Fortunately for him, they got 20 points gap ahead of United, otherwise I could see another choke coming.

I still hope on a Belgium - England, Nibs!

Not necessary this weekend.

Thank you for your support. Good luck tonight!

We should have done the same, Carrickblue. Waiting and waiting and waiting, but we don't have a poker face.
