Looked up Pony. They had the 1982 World Cup Golden Boot striker Paulo Rossi as their star player in the early to mid 1980s. Still very much on the go. Looks like they are fair big over in the USA. They were founded in New York in the early 1970s.

I remember being in Scarborough for a weekend break in the late 1990s and did a double take at seeing a Leeds Utd fan with a Leeds home top on with Hopkin as the name on the back.

The reason being. I had been in the same secondary school team with Davie Hopkin and who played a few games for us in the early ish 1990s. Slightly off topic I admit!

Allways liked Micky   Droy tbh ,think it must have.been because he was a giant and I had a pull out poster of him deeming the yellow/ green umbro away kit .while Iam on that yellow\ green umbro away kit ,I still think that’s the most classic CFC shirt todate.

The bloke hardly ever lost a header. Even the likes of Joe Jordan, Peter Withe and Cyrille Regis couldn't compete.

Ps According to my brothers Panini sticker book the only player taller than him was Joe Corrigan, who was half an inch taller at 6' 4 and a half inches.

Droy was massive all over with it. He always reminded me of Bluto on Popeye.

He was, in fact I can´t remember any opposition player having the guts to try and wind him up.

I wasn't as fortunate as most of you with the likes of Charlie Cooke etc, when I started supporting Chelsea the club was in one of its Baron periods. I can remember most of the other kids in the playground standing bemused looking at me as I volleyed the ball into the net and ran off claiming I was Mickey Fillery!! Mickey who they asked?

For some bizarre reason - Darren Barnard. I'm not even left footed, I think I just liked his name. It does seem like I have a soft spot for obscure left wing-backs though :)

When Drogba first arrived he didn’t win people over immediately, but remember watching him in a warm up and thinking this man has gotta come good. Was well impressed with his skill and the way he moved, especially for a big brute of a bloke.

Carlo Cudicini as i was mostly a goalkeeper. If by any reason i had to play any other position i would be placed in the defense and would be Desailly. I was always tall for my age, but also very skinny so didn't really compliment Marcel haha.
