Next Chelsea Manager

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

Deary me no.

Fabregas has a great passing range but he has no defensive awareness and no legs. He is essentially a training cone without the ball. Same reasons he couldn't play the role Pirlo played under Conte at Juve.

Well Pirlo wasn't exactly an exceptional athlete either.

I would like us to sign another midfielder like Weigl, but i wont be surprised to see fabregas play effectively as a starter and excel under Sarri

No not at all, but he was also playing in Italy not England. How many times have we seen powerful box to box players streaming past Fabregas? To regularly in my view.

I can see him playing a role under Sarri but probably as the furthest forward of a midfield three. Kante is obviously a given in a three, that leaves a deeper lying midfielder who is quick and defensively sound but can also distribute the ball.

Weigl is a candidate although I'm not sure how realistic that is. We are linked with Seri but I'm not sure a midfield featuring two players smaller than 170 is viable in our league.

Question to the Napoli fan in here, do you think that Fabregas can play the same role that jorginho does for you guys?

If so, what do you guys think about this formation

 Courtois

Azpi-Rudiger-Christensen-Emerson

              Fabregas

       Kante-Ruben Loftus Cheek

New RW( Would like to see CHO here)- New striker( Assuming Morata will leave)- Hazard

Yes, in my opinion, but it depends from the alternatives. In Naples, the Master thought to make play also Hamsik there, before of the Jorginho's explosion. What is certain is that Kantè can not do it. Sincerly i don't know well the Drinkwater skills. Otherwise the only solution is the market.

I have watched on youtube some videos of Drinkwater and could be a good option to be the central midfielder in the Sarri system. He seems have very good tecnhic and vision of the game. Also his defensive phase seems no bad. Naturally is difficult have a perfect idea just by youtube videos. What do you think about him ?

I still think we will start the season with Conte as manager. It's dragging too long to be happening and new reports are things are bad in negotiations. Most likely scenario is we were never in for him and because our board are incompetent we have let the rumours run instead of addressing them.

Also read on Twitter we are looking at Mick Mccarthy. I'm giving up if that's the case.

Going to be some disappointed fans (sadly) who are expecting to see CHO and RLC play even more under Sarri.  We have these discussions with every new manager and it never happens, it wont this time either.

Dujon Sterling, CHO, RLC, Mason Mount, Lewis Baker etc will never be regulars here. It just wont happen.  That's not me being negative because id like to see youth used occasionally, its me being sensible and realistic. I think many of them need loans at a good level. Not Eredivisie, or Scotland, or Belgium etc   If Sarri takes over he will bring players in.

It'll all come down to the clause, which expires Thursday. There is way too much talk of a deal being agreed for it to be false news. And these stories are from pretty decent sources.

My guess would be a compromise gets found and Sarri takes over.  I'd not be surprised if Conte's severance package is sorted

They all say the same thing for almost a week now. Makes me think they are just referencing each other without any real knowledge of what's happening.

I think that is due to reporters being asked whats the latest all the time.  If Dimarzio and Alfredo Pedulla are saying a contract is agreed, just the clause left.  I'd be inclined to believe them.

There is a Napoli account on Twitter which is run by a Scottish bloke i think, and he said Alfredo Pedulla is one of the best around, this was his reply when Pedulla reported about the long meeting in London and agreement reached.

We will get news this week i suspect, Thursday is the deadline if we want Sarri "cheaper"

Feels like its in the interests of all sides to get this done. Napoli have their new guy already, we're supposedly willing to pay some compensation, and Sarri wants to come to us. They just need to tie up the lose ends.

How’s it dragging too long? Our season ended a week ago :face_palm:

World cup starts in 3 weeks. Then  pre season just after. Our window for signing players and integrating them into the side is as small as ever. We should've done this days a go. Unless you think we should make the new managers job harder by reducing the time he has to work with new players.

I am not expecting CHO to play a lot, But RLC 100% will, he isn't a youth player anymore, the dude will potentially be a starter for england at the world cup, i doubt that Sarri will ignore him if he plays well during pre season and the world cup.

Mount might go out on loan, but who knows, maybe he will impress Sarri enough in pre season to stick around

RLC might, even then its slim IMO

If the club has spoken to Mick McCarthy then maybe it is to make us feel grateful for whoever we get instead.

Or maybe him and Bruce are just mates. This whole 'they were seen together!' stuff from the press is usually a bit mad.

No that's rational, must be something else!

I dont think it's slim, he fits perfectly in what Sarri wants from his midfielders, especially in a 4-3-3.

Ruben will play
