Next Chelsea Manager

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

I'm with you mate. I've no idea why people keep banging on about his record. Don't they understand? He uses drones!

Drones to start with - what next, replacing the players with Robots?

Actually, I could see the benefit of replacing Bakayoko with R2D2.

So his contract gambit worked. Easy money.

What did I say.

I'm sure we'll see some Pochettino SNUBS CHELSEA and the like articles soon.

"Gianfranco Zola would also join Sarri, in order to help the now former #Napoli coach, integrate himself in the Premier League" (via @EnzoBucchioni) #CFC

Zola could be back on the bench. Would be a good move I think as I’m sure the players will respect him.

Legend, and I love the idea of him being involved in coaching - especially with some of the younger players. But don't let him anywhere near match-day matters as his record in management has been nothing short of disastrous!

Absolutely, way too nice!

It would be a nice move to have both Ballack and Zola involved.

Thanks for that.

Seems he would get on well with David Moyes - offering female reporters out!

Do we know if he can speak good English? Nothing worse than seeing your manager unable to communicate and having to use a translator.

Yes,he speaks english enough. He studied it for work.

He started from nothing. Wasn't professional player, was just a visionary that left a safe job in bank to follow his dream. Never had a team to win, but almost made the miracle in the last three years.

I've got my level 1 in coaching. Maybe in 20 years I'll be managing chelsea :-D

This is too much god damn awesomeness for any one season. :droolsmiley:::ChELSeAFaN::

You could do if you work hard at it.

What does a level 1 in coaching course entail?

It was pretty basic:

http://www.thefa.com/get-involved/coach/courses/all-courses/the-fa-level-1-in-coaching-football

I will be doing Level 2, if they ever send me my bloody certificate for the Level 1, and will try to find a youth team to join and help out.

Surely we will find out by the weekend???

I don’t think people need to worry about transfers, I think it’s down to the board to have targets rather than the manager. My concern is are we looking to have a DoF before we look at transfers? There’s too much going on at the moment.

Manager, director of football and Roman situation. It’s all abit messy at the moment

I wouldn't expect anything on Conte getting sacked today (if he is), that will come once everything is agreed with the incoming manager IMO.

Which doesn't seem to have happened yet, id guess next week sometime.

That's an excellent article. If Sarri joins than I wish him all the best but it Will be difficult to portray his ideas on the pitch with this team.

If Conte could implement a 3-4-3 system I wouldn't count out our squad so fast when it comes this 4-3-3 with a high work rate that Sarri seems to base his tactic on.

Poor article.

Positional awareness can be taught. Yes there are players that have natural high awareness however you can drill patterns of play into a group of players.

Technical abillity : while there are some players like Cahill, moses and Bakayoko who do indeed lack the technical abillity to play sarri ball the majority of our squad has solid technical abillity. Azpi, Rudiger, Christensen, Emerson, Kante, Fabregas, Hazard, Willian, Pedro, Morata, Giroud. All of them have at hte very least a solid base to build upon.

Relentless pressing : Again this is something that can be taught and more importantly the players need to be told to do it. Last season we pressed a lot, this season Conte seemed reluctant to tell the players to press.

There's seems to be this notion that Napoli were this amazing high positional awareness, high technical, crazy energy team before Sarri came along. They weren't at all. Sarri made this team what they are today.

Napoli weren't these group of amazing players before Sarri got his hands on them. Like seriously 3 years ago how many Napoli players would people have considered great players and capable of playing this type of football ?

Wow this person is negative. The article is interesting but he constantly quotes Cahill, Bakayoko, Moses & Drinkwater as not being good enough for Sarri’s system, when they are the players that won’t even be playing next season. Key to Sarri succeeding attacking wise is buying a midfielder who can look after the ball. If that midfielder is man marked though it would be handy to have another who can drop deep to support. RLC?

I honestly think that Barkley didn't get a proper chance this season, he was good before he joined us he still has that talent so I hope he can contribute.

I’m all for Barkley getting a chance but I don’t think he’s the deep lying playmaker we need. It’s a shame Jorginho seems City bound.

Sorry it was a joke, personally hope Barkley is nowhere near the first team next season.

Really poor article.

Doesn't even consider the possibility or sarri being able to improve players.

Focuses on the short comings of players that will likely not be an important player under any new manager.

They also make completely unfounded claims about hazard and willian ignoring conte's side line instructions.

Rather than comparing our squads to napoli's now, it would be better to compare our squad napoli's when he 1st took over, he didn't inherit a squad of players perfect to play his style of football, he worked with what he had, and the club added 2/3 players.

The question should be whether Courtois, Rudiger, Azpiliucueta, Kante, and Hazard can play his system.

Not whether Cahill, Moses, Alonso, Fabgregas, and Bakayoko can.

There's plenty of reasons to be cautious over sarri, a lack of rotation and no trophies are genuine concerns, but I don't think playing style should even be an issue, especially when it's clear we need a few additions anyway, and most of the players that would struggle the most are either coming towards the end of their contracts, and/or are dispensable.
