Gareth Bale

Hes 29 in 2 months and always picking up niggling injuries, its the absolute last player Chelsea will consider buying.

If the price was right, I'd take him, he'd be an instant upgrade on what we have on the right as it stands but Madrid will want mad money for him, I'd prefer Asensio or Isco if I was cherry picking Real Madrid talent but players that Madrid or any top tier club sell are usually done when theyve reached the end of their cycle and can be replaced/upgraded.

Paying anything over 60m for Bale would be criminal and his wages are insane, Chelsea should avoid like the plague.

I just can't see us signing him, the fee is gonna be massive and we don't have Champions League football to offer him either.

I also think a fee of anything £100mil or above is too much for him, he's really injury prone.

I'd take him in a heartbeat though.

Don't think we'd sign him either but would 4x CL winner Gareth Bale really be that concerned with CL football if everything else was equal? He'd probably prefer to win the league or FA Cup at this point.

Well I keep thinking he's won it four times so surely he'd be OK for a season without it haha.

At the same time though players want to play against the best and the best are in the Champions League.

NOT a chance. First of all we would never pay the 85M that Madrid is asking for him. Second of all this guy is a 29 year old whose entire game depends upon pace and athleticism...which will drop significantly by the time he's 31-32. So 85M for a guy that's gonna give us 2 seasons...and that's completely forgetting the fact that he is one of THE MOST injury prone players currently. Would rather get Bailey for 60-65.

IMO he's going to PSG...I doubt Paris would miss out on the chance for replacing Di Maria with Bale and utilize that Neymar Mbappe Bale combination. And honestly I think PSG and United are the only teams that can pay Bale's wages without having too much of a problem in the dressing room.

Always find it funny how apparently as soon as you hit a certain number in age you suddenly lose every attribute you had previously. Just for reference he's 28, but he will be 29 in July so I guess you're almost right.

Bale would be an awesome signing for Chelsea, but unfortunately if we got him it would more likely be in some kind of exchange for Hazard. If we kept Hazard and got Bale, then we would have the two best wide forward players in the league. In our current predicament being in the Europa league next season, I can't see any player in Bale's league really wanting to join us anyway.

Its not always the case but it mostly is, a player that replies on pace who continues to get injuries will slow down in their 30s it's inevitable. When you purchasing these players for high prices you want to get your monies worth.

He thinks he needs to start every game but he was injured so much time in the last 2 seasons, I hope Mourinho buys him since I could almost bet that he will get injured again and miss half a season.

Gareth started his career as a LWB and that's where he'll be again if Jose gets ahold of him. Right in front of their LB.

A serial champions league winner, 28/29 years of age, why the hell would he want to come to a Europa league side who can't compete with the top teams in the transfer market anymore, whose owner can't get in the country, and haven't got a scooby who the next manager is gonna be, sadly reality must kick in, anyway roll on next season!

He's exactly the type of player we need but it will be an extremely hard deal to pull off.  I don't even think we'll go for him and even if we do the likes of Man U and PSG will blast us out of the water in terms of what wages they can offer him.  Even if we could match them if he has the option to go to Man U, PSG or Chelsea I'm pretty sure we're last on that list.  He would be a massive improvement on Willian and the thought of Hazard and Bale on either wing is amazing to think about but I'd say we have about a 5% chance of signing at best.

He's on £350,000 a week, we wont pay that.

He's won the Champions league 4 times now, incredible.  Where does he go from there? In my mind, there's nowhere else to go higher in the ambitious side of things. For me Madrid are the biggest club in the world. The only option for him is to stay and try and win more European Cups.

He may not be as popular as Ronaldo for Madrid fans, but that goal will surely buy him at least another season or two...

On those wages it's either stay at madrid or go to psg. I can't see United paying those wages after commiting to Sanchez, and I don't think city would be that keen since they have sane, and probably Mahrez.
