He didn't say any of that, why lie?

He did say that.

I don't think Conte is too destructive. I think he a man with great ambitions, he never settle for less. He wants to win something every single season, so when see a player or the board trying to be an obstacles to his goals he gets uncontrollably angry with SOMETIMES bad consequences.
GIVE HIM WHAT HE WANTS AND YOU ARE GUARANTEED A TROPHY EVERY SEASON!
Watch out, he can't be out of job for long, everyone likes a winner.

The players he allegedly wanted that summer would have seen us fall foul of FFP. While we could have done a better job meeting in the middle the only thing that would have kept Conte happy indefinitely was a blank cheque and we ain't that club anymore.

The club stated they would use stadium money for the squad.

obviously FFP is a big point but we need players just like sarri said

Hes choosing the best of a bunch of average grapes imo

They did? Where and when?

I was under the impression that stadium expences were not part of FFP calculations, so it wouldn't affect us negatively if Roman shelled out a few quid out of his own pocket. Transfer business is a different matter altogether, we can't just spend a few hundred thousand on new players without recovering large part of that sum through sales.

And here:

Sarri on Man City's strength: "Maybe they are the best team in Europe. We know very well that it is very difficult. It is impossible to beat them in the long run but in a match, anything can happen."

Does that really matter though? i mean why doesn't Di Matteo get linked with any of the top jobs i mean he's won a champions league and a FA cup and that's more than Kloop and Pochetinno have done, two of the best managers in the EPL. Isn't that you logic? Sarri not wining anything major doesn't mean much to me, style of football means more these days than trophies otherwise Sarri wouldn't of got the Chelsea job in the first place. Klopp and Pochetinno have won nothing at their clubs but nobody wants them sacked, Mourinho has won everything and he's struggling in 8th but everyone wants him sacked because of the style of play.

Sarri style of play even in these early months has been good to watch, will get even better when he has a proper pre season, buy some better players and the team gets use to how he wants them to play. We see it in flashes in games. Guardiola had a poor first season, spanked by Everton and Leicester for example, now look at them.

Not sure what everyone is moaning at we are where we are suppose to be, fourth place right in contention for top four place. We were never going to win the league. We need to give Sarri time and spend wisely like we did in the summer. No more Zappacosta's and Drinkwater and Bakayakos. I have a good feeling about a positive result on Saturday.

I just wanted to add that Sarri started from the bottom (literally) and worked his way up. He didn't coach a youth team at a big club, he started coaching at Sunday league level and moved his way up to Napoli. Sure, he didn't win anything, but often it's right place, right time. Some coaches need the chance to prove themselves at the highest level to see how good they are. I think it's safe to say that Sarri has proved himself capable of competing with the elite level managers who have better teams/players.

As I said before, unfortunately it just happens that Sarri has came in at a bad time when the rest of the league has improved and our rivals have got stronger. I think any coach would have a similar problem or probably worse if they came to Chelsea this season. I think if Jose, Conte, Ancelotti, you name it, came in this season would struggle too. Liverpool are at their peak, as are City, Spurs have continued their good form, and Arsenal have a new coach/players and are getting results and looking stronger than previously. The mid-lower table sides are better too imo.

He obviously means this season in isolation when he says the long run.

Could be. But even so, should a Chelsea-manager say its impossible to beat City over a season? When we were neck and neck with them until early November and could be within range if we beat them at home tomorrow?

For me the answer to that is a big fat no.

And why even bring up that you've always lost against Guardiola and doesn't know how to beat him? Not exactly the right signal to give to the players before tomorrow. It sounds way to defeatist.

Sarri on how you beat a team like Manchester city...

"I don't know, against Guardiola, I've lost every match, so you'd have to ask somebody else"

Honesty is good at times.....but if I was his player this would not give me hope or confidence. Horrible answer imo.

As if anything said in a press conference would have any impact on elite players performance once they cross over the white line.

Bit like Mourinho’s so called mind games, of which there’s zero proof had any effect whatsoever.

If people believe that Sarri is saying the same thing to the press as he is the players then I don't know anymore. Managers and players, for that matter, are notorious for saying the complete opposite publicly to what is said in house.

Infact I see Sarii as that exact type......Conte, Jose etc I will give. Even if he doesnt mean it, he shouldnt say it. Theres enough w**king over pep, we dont need a Chels manager doing the same.

Of course it will.......players today are fickle. They need motivation......they need the manager to ring the good tunes all around. Sorry but his answer aint good imo.

You also have to take into account this is a very important game.....a good result in this blip could galvanize us. The team right now dont need their manager to be defeatist......anyhow lets hope for a good result all the same.

Managers do it all the time in the press conference, it's not just Sarri. They are not going to lay their cards on the table, they will fluff the opposition.

We will see tomorrow........I hope he has a good plan up his sleeve.

Agreed. Set yourself up as the underdog and it takes pressure off. Schoolboy psychology. Obviously something that our “ take everything at face value”’ correspondents are too thick to realise

But to play devils advocate here if he claimed he believed we were capable of chipping away at City's lead we would all think he needed professional help. Jose returned with all his array of medals and ruled out the chances of us beating City, and that was Pellegrini's City while we were actually above them.

Watching it again his answer to the Guardiola question was clearly intended as banter, and it worked as the press started laughing.

Sarri aint jose or conte......he says what he sees, if you Watch his interviews you would know...instead of coming out with back handed digs. Maybe you the thick one not to ponder he just might mean it.

And to add..........How many times has a manager, in a Friday press conference, said X player will not be available, only to see on the Saturday X player in the line up.

I havent seen sarii be like that.....he tells it as he sees it since he came here at least. Evey time we have been bad or lost, he came out and told it as it is. Not hiding or going another direction.

Sarri will probably play the same system.

If Sarri plays the same system, we are royally f**ked!

If we take another heavy defeat by a main rival, will he then look at adapting?

So he didn't say either of the things you stated,  you lied. Thanks for the proof.
